Eddie also pointed out that a Saints player (can't remember who - might have been Fa'asavalu?) did exactly the same last week and didn't get sent off.
This for me is the most annoying thing, like the McIlorum sending off. We see it week in week out and people don't get sent off, then all of a sudden in a one off special they'll whip out the red. Who was the video ref who said to the other ref McIlorum should be sent off?
The other thing that annoyed me was why did Mathers lift his arm in the first place he didn't need to give the ref that option.
Why didn't Leo-Latu at least get sin binned? he threw numerous high shots and what about Sculthorpe? he went look in late on Higham (I think) then had a swing at him.
The inconsistency shown by referees is infuriating!

Ben Thaler !!!
A comment was also made by Hemmings last night that in 12 years of SL, Wigan have only had 2 players sent of, this year we have had 4, 3 in the last few games
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

You have got to wonder whether there is something going on behind the scenes. I saw much worse than the Mathers incident go totally unpunished!!
eddie also said when they showed the replay of the Grix i think is was who obb put his foot in touch but it was missed "well if that had been Wigan it would of been scrum head and feed to wakefield no question wouldn't it?"
what i dont understand is scully had a a spell, he had a second bite at calders, pushed he next guy then threw a swinging arm which the ref saw plain as day and he put it on report telling him he had seen it so my question to the ref would be:
ok mathers got sent off for what was admittedly a clumsy lead with the forearm (not elbow) something fozzard has made a career of but he had no malace
now scully throws a punch at someone so he is aiming outside a challenge to inflict pain and injury onto another player.ok he doesn't land it cleanly but how can that not be a send off?
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
i said before the game to my daughter that i think thaler would get either challange cup final or grand final im not to sure now after that performance

On tonights performance, I wouldn't let him referee a darts final!
