How he has played in his last two games compared to his first two games , I think there has been quite a big improvement.

His positional play is much better and he is starting to break a few tackles when he runs the ball out.

I wasn't a great fan when he was at Leeds, but I think he could turn into a "pretty" good full back for us.

Nice one Mikey, I thought he played better tonight and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for next season. He needs confidence and I think last night will lift him. Well done Richie.
I'm still not convinced, but he certainly outplayed Wellens last night! A couple of decent games doesn't make up for what he's been like all season though.

Are we watching the same matches. He never broke a tackle last night. He is the worst offensive fullback in SL.

Defusing bombs.

What is this confidence excuse? You either have it or you do not. That is what makes great players.

Mathers is the worst Wigan fullback for 40+ years

Until his injury at Leeds he was being suggested as the obvious replcement when Radders retired from internastional rugby as the next GB fullback. He was very good IMO

Your wasting your time disagreeing with CPW he has a downer on anyone Nobby likes, he just wishes for them to fail so he can spout the usual "get rid of Noble!" rubbish.

How many career threatening knee injuries have any of these other players had and the stats dont actually provide a true picture with regards to the attacking options of the team each player is playing in and what competition. For example his stats in 2004/5/6 pre injury are very similar to Wellens.

The ill discipline struck me. This season I presumed was an anomaly but Mathers was being sin binned more regularly than other full backs.

My mistake. I did not notice Wigan RLFC had changed their name to Rugby League Benevolent Fund. His career record shows he has never been very good and had 1 (ONE) decent season.

To be honest I give up. Mathers is awesome. Best fullback ever. What speed, what tackling. The best I have ever seen. Hope that makes the lemmings happy.
