No Smith as half back tells fielden where to run and which line to use feilden does not decide that. Halfbacks dictate play especially for forwards, they tell them which line they want them to run, a good half back will always be positioning his forwards so its good to hear that smith was doing that. A friend of my who is a stains fan watches a lot of NRL and he says Smith is genuine class, he's obviously no-where near as polished an item as Barrett was but i think he will be great for us.

The problem we had last year is Wigans style of play wasn't the same as smiths hopefully with an off season and a few games this will gel.

Not true smith had to run for the ball and therefore changed all the mines so Fielden run what line he thought best. TBH Fielden should be calling for Smith to hit him.

I just hope it isn't as cold in Leigh as it is down here in snowy Leicestershire.

I've got my ticket for next Sunday, so maybe I'll bump into someone from the Forum for the first time ever.

He played and was one of Leigh's best which is staggering given he played left wing for a team that plays 90%+ of its rugby on the right side. He came inside for the ball and made some quality scoots earning Leigh 2 penalties as Wigan struggled to contain him. He could have had a try had Reay given him the ball IMO.

He retrieved every kick, juggling 1. He defended very well.

Leigh fans were very happy with his effort.

Re kick offs. The catcher and runner usually talk pre kick off. They then both know what is expected. If the kick off makes that plan impossible, the runner communicates to the catcher where he is going to be/where the ball needs to go.
