Main reason for mentioning it was, can you ever see Nobby dropping a Fielden or a Mathers, let alone a Hanley or a Goodway!

kevin penny, british wingers eat your heart out!

personally id like to see mossop/farrell/flanagan play next week if hocky is injured. these lads deserve the chance to represent the club

sam must play! mcillorum or tim smith to drop out in my opinion!
Personally, without the salary cap, I'd sooner see us blood half a team of enthusiatic, talented youngsters who may not always win, but give their all, and progress. Problem is if the they are coached in our first team set up, they could be made to look extremely stupid!

Hmmmm! The last time this was done Wilde,(better than Bailey and as good as Hock & Lockers) was caned on this site, Brown (far better than Goulding) was caned on this site, Aspinwall (as good as any winger at the club) was caned on this site and on and on and on. Hodgeson (better than owt in the backs) was caned on this site.

Could go on for ever!

can't agree with any of the opinions in bold there

I do think ainscough and others are there and the fans do realise this, this is why we are so disgruntled with what we are watching, there are rookies in the reserve grade who admittedly will make mistakes and have bad games but can't do worse than what we are watching. Who needs to realise this are the coaching staff! and if they don't realise it the guys up top should make them realise it! the fans reaction to ainscough certainly should help those at the top notice, not sure about the coaches, the perfromances certainly don't seem to have made much difference!

I can't see how someone would suggest mcillorum should go out for tomkins, it has to be smith. Mcillorum (discipline aside) was decent last night, way better than piggy. we scored our tries with him on the pitch and they came back at us when he got taken off and we lost a lot of agression and momentum.

Big step up from reserve grade to Super League, much more intense and physical. Wouldn't be too suprised if Ainscough didn't play next weekend.

Me either but it won't be because SL is much more intense and physical. It will be Noble doing his usual and selecting his senior players regardless of anyone's form, theirs or Ainscough's.

In any case I didn't think he was out muscled or looked out of place physically on Friday.

Ainscough had an amazing game and like CP said he has done it all the time he has been at the club. AS soon as i found out he was in the starting team i new he would show up and prove himself as thats just how he plays, he doesnt back down from nobody......unlike plenty of his teammates as from what we'v seen.

I really hope Sam Tomkins is given some part of the up and coming games as he cannot play any worse then Tim Smith.

Even though i would love to see the like of Farrell and Davies given the chance , i hope people will realise that it will be alot harder for the young forwards to make and impact as the likes of Tomkins and Ainscough. But never the less i have all the faith in the likes of Farrell and Tuson and Davies

Rob it is but it never is on a short term basis and not on a long term basis for some players. Ainscough fits the category of a player who plays better and better the higher the standard of RL he is selected in. He is also a winger and it is not the same as a young forward moving from reserve to SL for example.

People need to stop finding reason not to play players. It is far too negative.
"Like all players, he had strengths and he had weaknesses, and it was my job not to camouflague his weaknesses but to turn them into acceptable strengths. We also had to make him want to lift his game and become a better player"

Ainscough and Stanton illustrated how dumb Noble is. It is no good Noble pretending he can create a team to play a diffferent brand of RL. He cannot. He should be up front and even better honest with himself and admit I only know one way to play RL.

Moreso he should then remove his ludicrous prejudice against small players and wake up to the fact that if you want wingers to scoot, make hard yards etc etc then the best wingers for this task are the Ainscoughs, the Stantons. That type of winger always has been and always will be.

Gill, Robinson, Carney, Dallas it's not rocket science

Just thinking that Noble has duty of care to look after players. Agreed, harder for forwards than backs but intensity of tackles at SL level is massively greater than academy. I think he'll be cautious with how much game time he gets so soon after making his debut. But... what do I know, I'm not a coach.
