depends what you call hard, i think currently its got to be s.tompkins the lad is 6 stone wet through and outgunned pyshically by everyone yet takes them all down and never seems to get hurt by tackles and teams aren't going easy on him.
I think past well kelvin skerrett was a nutter! so was cowie in his youth, i wouldn't want to pick a fight with twiggy or o'conner gregory beat up a dog in the park when it bit him a year or so back lol

Brian McTigue
was as hard as nails on the field and a gentleman off it
he was a real enforcer ( ask the Aussies about him)

Dermott was asked this pre match in the west stand and he replied Hanley was the hardest. He said wehen he hit you you knew it.

Shaun Edwards - don't think any of the current bunch would carry on with a fractured cheekbone/eye socket.
Deano was also hard as nails.
Of the current bunch only Hock stands out.
