Sam T is the top earner of the youngsters. Then Mossop. Ainscough earns the same roughly as Liam Farrell.

It would make more sense, and be a more sensible reason if true, than this ridiculous "duty of care" excuse.

With the "live" cap these days, why not just say that the signing of Gleeson has pushed us right to the edge? I'm pretty sure most fans would accept that.
I agree and I think most fans would accept it much more readily than the other excuses because they simply don't hold water.

Would it be at all possible to gain such information on contracts without people aksing them on facebook? or is information private (being wages etc.)
to be honest if someone posted on a site how much I was earning, i'd be a tad miffed.
why should anyone reveal wages of any indivudual, be they players, backroom staff or working the tunstiles, it's their business
Speculation on wages goes with the territory of professional sport. How much players earn is big news and always has been in any of the major sports. How much the bloke on the turnstile earns isn't.

Ainscough should be getting a decent increase when his contract is renewed this year, though.

I hope.

he is probably on an incentive scheme with milestones attached

sounds to me as if Noble is playing at silly so and so,s

we need some clear guidance why he is not playing Ainscough

We do because as people search for reasons or excuses why he isn't playing him speculation mounts.

This thread is speculating he can't play him for salary cap reasons. Well if so, then say so because not playing him because of the duty of care nonsense is annoying many fans.

We also have speculation Noble will always play established players who are fit in preference to youngsters even if the young player is the leagues leading try scorer.

This speculation is symptomatic of the fact people can not fathom why he is not being played so we should be given a definitive reason.

The clubs never going to do that. Taken from www.wiganwarriors.com ?

"Listen fans, the salary cap issue is a bit sticky at the moment. We've been rubbish the first part of the season and needed to sharpen up the attack, so we've bought a decent centre. Now the difficult thing is that we've had to loan some players and we can't play our high try scoring winger for a bit, becuase that'll make our salary cap siutation even worse and we'll get docked some points. So what we've done is make up a load of old pony about young Shaun needing work on his defence and that gives us some breathing room. Sorry to mislead you all."

Had it confirmed today that Shaun Ainscough will not play again for the first team because his present contract states that when he has played X number of games he is automatically upgraded to a new contract.

Whether they have kept a game or two in reserve or reached his limit I do not know.
