just cant see where we were going to score.The first 20 we did well but we always seem to run out of ideas near the line.I hate thinking like this but we are just not good enough at the moment and blaming the ref all the time is to easy.

Well if he does show his face (like he always does on the rare occasion that wire have something to crow about) then it's pretty clear that he is hear to cause a reaction and is therefore a troll.

If this happens then I hope the moderators ban him once and for all.

A short time ago Geoff posted some stats showing how well Wigan did on various measures so I said there must be something statistically we are bad at to explain why we are where we are in the league. As Geoff pointed out there isn't really except for the fact we have lost quite a few close games.

Well here is another narrow defeat and the problem this teams has, has been shown this week and last. I knew last week when HKR went ahead we wouldn't get back in front. I think every Wigan fan in the stadium did. It was the same tonight. The second half, as with last week, looked like we were devoid of ideas. We give away stupid penalties, we put ourselves under pressure and we do not know how to beat a side like Wire or HKR.

Are the players we have so far behind Wire or HKR in quality? I don't think so. The blame lies fairly and squarely with the coach IMO as this problem of loosing these close games is one he ought to have sorted out by now. I haven't read his post match comments yet but I'd be shocked if he didn't say for the umpteenth time were not not patient enough or similar.

We simply do not have the tactics to get something out of these close games.

Have to admit that I didn't think that the ref performed too badly, tonights loss was entirely down to ourselves.

1. The stupid penalties we gave away allowed Warrington to gain the upper hand, especially in the last 20 minutes.

2. Our pack were a poor second to Warrington's tonight (O'Loughlin excluded, probably our MoM). Fielden & Coley's frustration led to some of the previously mentioned penalties.

3. As our pack struggled of course so too did our attack which was practically invisible tonight, nobody seemed to be directing the team and our positional kicking was abysmal.

Feildens major problem is he is a coaches dream (if your against him that is). He's been figured out, he runs to the line then plants his right foot in an attempt to bump off the player facing him he faces full forward so there is no chance on a sneaky offload. This means you pitch a player of equal size against him he tries to bump him off as he is doing that 2 other players come in he has no momentum cos he has planted his foot way to far forward which means as soon as weight goes against him he's off backwards.

For his sizes feilden needs to be looking at trying to take half tackles i.e he should be running at gaps he hasn't got the weight or stregth like feka has to go one on one and win yet he continuly opts for this method. For 60k id keep him as a 4th prop anything more would be an over payment we need an enforcer

have t agree matey but to be fair i am a bit angry at the way we have played under noble.

For me he stifles the game play in our team.

Our best game this season by far was against the stains, clearly the players wanted to win the match and judging by nobbies expression during the game they obviously were not playing to his plan.

When we throw the ball about loke stains we can win games but tonight we insited on playing the ball up the middle and could not get the ball out to the backs quick enough.

i hate this boring style of saftey first forward first rugby, it kills the game and slows the play up suiting the slower sides alowing them to get in to the game.

lets play two drives up and then spread the ball out to the £110K centre and see just what they are made of

We lack key players in key positions. Tommy is never a 7 in the memory of man. He plays cameo parts where he can be excellent but in terms of driving a team around the pitch and creating play he is very poor. Throw in the biggest waste of space to pull on a shirt in many seasons at 9, Piggy then you lack a 7 and 9. You also lack a playmaking fullback. So you are left with lots of players working incredibly hard but with no playmaking and a system of play only fit for amateur RL.

A couple of great points you've made there.

I've said for ages now that Tommy is a 9 not a 7.

I had great hopes when Riddell signed for the club as whenever I watched him for Parramatta he seemed to be one of their go forward players, sadly it doesn't appear to working out at Wigan and he seems way off the pace.
