For me, two touch judge decisions were crucial - wrongly saying that we'd reaped the ball from Fasavalu led to a try and not giving the completed tackle (Joel/Long)maybe cost us a try.
Good news is that Joel had his best game yet for the club. Mossop did OK. Leuluai was carrying at least two injuries and could barely run towards the end so don't be too hard on the guy. Would say that Graham and Puletua shaded it on the forward runs.
Pat Richards tried everything and probably did as many hard yards as the props. The way he picked the ball up and grounded it for the try was superb.
If we get a real gem of a coach, we can do it next season.

(whoops - time to set Skyplus for Barrow and Halifax. C'mon Barrow!)

Didn't think we were average at all last night. A little nervous at times, but then it's knock out football, you kinda expect it. If anything, I think we saw two very good defensive efforts, that cancelled out the attack most of the night. We played with pride, passion, and determination, and at the end of the day, the rub of the green was the difference between the two. You couldn't ask more of the lads last night, and to say they were average does them a massive disservice. I've criticized this team when they played badly, but we need to credit them when they put the effort in and play well, and they did that in spades last night. Yes there were mistakes, bad choices made, but there is no team that is perfect for 80 mins. Stains and Leeds certainly weren't in their semi's.
Well played lads, and hopefully next year we'll go one better.

Saints were mediocre, and were there for the taking, it's just that we were worse, especially in attack.
