I am bloody excited just thinking how our young lads will develop under such coaching. Wane being involved will help too.

Crikey CP, haven't seen you this happy since.....well.....ever.
It's obvious you and DaveO and several others know what you're talking about so that's good enough for me. Obviously time will tell but I'm chuffed for the club and chuffed for Shaun Wane getting the assistant's post. WELL DESERVED

Now.... If we get rid of Fielden and Maguire brings Billy Slater with him :sly:
"K"

"But look at, look at Lydon go here...Remniscent of those two great tries when he won the Lance Todd... He's got Hanley inside him. He's going all the way..........."

I am so thrilled. This has made my day, which was already going well. Who knows whether he will succeed, but everything suggests we have got a great coach. I have been really impressed by IL's approach to this. He went out to Oz with an open mind and managed to speak to a lot of well informed people over there, before going for MM. The old regime would have spoken to agents who would have talked up their clients and sold us an expensive pup.
We wanted cutting edge NRL experience and we have it.
One other benefit of MM is that, as Melbourne don't have that many juniors locally, they have to have the country's best scouting system, and he will have the names of lots of up and coming stars in Oz and NZ, We might not get this Inglis, but we might get the next one. Certainly, we can expect to make the most well informed decisions on NRL imports of any club.
If I could do a cart wheel I would.
2 season ticket renewals for me please.

Kiwi I know  I just think this could be an appointment on the scale of Graham Lowe and to top it we seem to be putting succession into place with Shaun Wane (The young players really trust and respect him) and Kris Radlinski coming through too. It looks like a real plan to go forward for the next decade or so.

Melbourne have been brilliant. If you are successful in Aus the way their cap works you have to pay bonuses out and to stay with the cap you have to offload players. The storm have done that repeatedly and kept going and going by being at the cutting edge of RL. Maguire also has Canberra connections and their youth development is similarly outstanding. If I was an aspiring player I would be looking forward to MM arriving. If I was a lazy pro I would be trembling.

I think when we do sign players in future we will sign better quality ones, ones that will deliver.

I am not expecting much for 2010. Well I wasn't but I think MM might sneak Wigan a final/a trophy as earl as 2010. 2011 and we will be flying.

This is the news we have been waiting for.Congratulations IL on obtaining MM a coach who is surely on the up and up.This is the first time I have felt confident for the future in many a year. The nose to tail journey mostly on a Friday evening will be a pleasure if after travelling I get to see a Wigan team playing open expansive rugby.Congrats to Shaun also.A well deserved appointment.Lets hope you emerge as a future Wigan head coach.Bring on the Scouse Bas***ds.They must be quaking in there boots. :D :D

Iv heard Maguire is gonna work really well with the backs with Wane more focused on the forwards with Maguire as a kinda head tactician and fitness coach!!

Exciting times people! Maguire has produced Inglis, Folaou (sp?), and Slater to name but a few susperstar backs!

Bring on Good Friday at KR next year!!!
Wish list: Billy Slater please!!!!!!!!
