Maybe, but he wouldnt rely on his club physio sprinting onto the pitch when a try is conceded to tell his fellow players where they went wrong!!! . We've all seen Mike Forshaw trying to motivate the players under the post, im sure if Dean Bell was still captain Forshaw would be feeling Dean Bells boot up his arse all the way back to the dugout!!!

I have the deepest respect for sean and he is and always will be a great WIGAN player. But a captain needs to talk to his players give them encouragement and let them know when they are not giving 100percent.I really think it would do him good for the pressure to be given to someone else and i DO NOT MEAN GLEESON!!!!a player who can remain calm when things get heated experienced can speak well and represent the WIGAN team any idea who i mean??? dragonlady

I remember, i think was last home game of season...Sean like went back into the line after being involved in a tackle and Piggy pointed to tell him to go somewhere else.

I don't think it's just Sean's problem. I think he has the making of a great captain...it just seems like they dont respect him.

If MM puts a bit of fire in Sean's belly when it come to captaining the side then we're sorted and he establishes that on the field of play...SEAN IS IN CHARGE!

IMO thats all that's needed

Lockers is a hard working player who gives his all. (fact)

His all is between bad and good at best. He is never brilliant but again stress he does give his all unlike other players or should I say most players within the club.

He is no captain and never will be....

As far as the players go about giving him there vote.... one or two more words….. politics and wanting to stay in the team…..

I didn’t think I would say this about Lockers….. Maybe they needed him in the team this year as he was one of the few players who tried….

New captain please

Lockers is doing an excellent job as captain and an excellent job as a player for Wigan.

O'Loughlin has not had it easy as captain considering he was appointed when the team was at almost rock bottom. Even the greatest captain would have some trouble when everything around the is falling apart.

Since 2006 the club has gone from one scandal to another, the squad has seen loads of changes, he has been working under a coach who was not very popular with fans or players and for O'Loughlin himself he has been very unlucky with injuries. Sean was chucked into the deep-end and then a few sharks were chucked in as well and he still managed to do a good job as captain.
