Richards cant pressure kick

I'm just gutted for the lads. I've said it before,you can't play any team with only 3 recognised props. We aren't big enough. Its okay saying you want slim agile props but they just don't have enough power. Sorry if you all disagree but that is my opinion.

totally agree, not sure what option we had though if Feka was injured.

Pat had an excellent game but I would agree that he does not kick to his best ability when under a lot of pressure.

He was never a regular kicker before he came to Wigan and up until this season he has always been kicking for the under dogs.

Pat might have kicked the most goals this season but he also missed the most and other teams who have scored lots of tries have not had their regular kickers fit all season.

Personally I think Pat's kicking especially from the touch line is worse then previous season.

I don't think anyone would have kicked the one at the end. Not because it was on the touch line as such but because with it being so far back that made the distance a lot further. I think he'd have got a conversion form the touchlineas that would have been closer has one of them involved scored in the corner.

Maybe a player with Faz's power would have stood a better chance but another of our great goal kickers, Frano Botica, would never have got the ball anywhere near close enough.

Anyway focusing on the goal kicking takes the heat out of the fact Leeds won by professional fouls (two of 'em).

I would never blame any kicker but A & L has a point his kicking went off the boil not sure why who know but it did. Shame as I would have loved that last one to go over.

One interesting aspect of kicking and I see no solution. The Aussies did some stats and a player is far less likely to convert his own try than those scored by others. Adrenalin / heart rate etc.

Likewise, in modern RL wingers do more hit ups than props these days so you wonder if fatigue becomes an element with Pat because IIRC his misses usually come late in a match.

I do not totally buy into 4 props because there is an argument that had we had a back to replace Deacon everything would be fine. Ideally 2 props, one back rower and a back would be my reserves. Oddly I think our back rowers let us down tonight more than the front row. Fielden was outstanding. Did Leeds have 4 props? Ultimately though players made bad mistakes and that cost us. Mickey Mac failing to complete his tackle on Sinfield, Tuson who tonight looked a little lost made a knock on that IIRC led to the scrum / drop goal. So many more silly errors.

Yep, Pat has kicked 135 goals but has missed 41, the player who has missed the second most is Joe Westerman who missed 35.

Mark Riddell is a top kicker, should he be given the chance.
Has Pat not indicated that he doesnt want to continue with the pressure of the kicking resposibilities.

I am old enough to remember that the year we finished top after only losing two matches (both against the Wire!!) we lost both matches because Frano had two off days with the boot.
