Yes but that forum was back in the Noble administration. I'd be amazed if IL pulled rank after the season we have had!cpwigan wrote:I agree KW but I have a nagging fear IL might pressurise Madge. I cannot forget the statements IL made re Pryce at a fans forum.

Hope not
I actually think you can be too big to play a sport and Pryce is. Apart from the obvious lack of heart etc.

I certainly can't remember any winger as tall. Inga & Vainokolo were probably bigger overall but they were exceptional!cpwigan wrote:Hope not

Re: Probably the most unpopular player but
I agree but even if he does actually try his best its just not good enough. He's been coached by the same coach as all the rest of the team many who have come on leaps and bounds and Pryce has not.gpartin wrote:No.
Never liked Pryce's attitude or effort at Wigan but the final straw for me was against Saints at the DW when he went off with a bit of a limp in stark contrast to Goulding at Headingley who could hardly walk at times but carried on regardless and still kept getting stuck in. Pryce has scored a fair few tries by falling over the line but can honestly say I hardly remember him running the ball in hard, beating a man or making a few tackles. The bloke can't be arsed and is stealing a living, let him steal a living somewhere else.
Pryce would also be one of the top 25 players in terms of wages even if on low pay so takes a slot up in that 25.
Only paying him £20K won't work. That may take him out of the top 25 but there is only £55K outside of the main £1.6m salary cap available to give low paid junior players a run. He would be getting in the way of junior players coming through the ranks.
If we keep Pryce because Pat is injured having let Ainscough go that is a poor deal. Yes I know Ainscough was gone before Pat got injured but Pryce should have been out the door before him. The only reason he wasn't must have been no interest from elsewhere.

Re: Phelps and Pryce futures to be decided
I'd be tempted to keep Phelps as a utility player. At the start of the season he looked like the real deal, his injuries were unfortunate timing. The one thing that's going against him is the fact that he would take up a quota place, otherwise I think he would be a dead cert to be re-signed.
I'd be happy to drive Pryce back to Bradford; I was so excited when he joined us, having remembered some of his play for the Bulls, but I'm sick of waiting for him to fulfil his potential. I just hope he doesn't come good somewhere else!

Pryce has been given many opportunities to prove his worth as a Wigan first teamer, but has taken none of them to establish his position. Let him go.
Phelps takes up an overseas quota place, and has not continually proven to justify his position at Wigan. Let him go.

Think your wrong on that part. Thought Phelps was great at the beginning of the year until he got injuredPanchitta Marra wrote:Pryce has been given many opportunities to prove his worth as a Wigan first teamer, but has taken none of them to establish his position. Let him go.

I understand what you are saying Fujiman, but I still dont think he has continually proven his worth to be on the overseas quota at Wigan.Fujiman wrote:Think your wrong on that part. I personally think Amos and Sam showed what quality full back play actually is and Phelps was in the Richie Mathers category.
