If anyone should get 12 matches it should be Sean Long.

It's about time the RFL told coaches to shut up making comments about what bans players should get before disciplinary hearings.

The intention is obviously to get players banned and unfortunately the RFL disciplinary panels are seemingly easily manipulated by comments like Kear's in the media.

Mind you so is the RFL in general. We only got done for the salary cap for quite legally by the rules deferring wages because Cas went ballistic to the press so I have little hope the RFL will suddenly grow a backbone.

There isn't much you can do about journos mouthing off and bitter idiots like Schofield but coaches, club chairmen and other club officials should be hauled up for bringing the game into disrepute for comments like these.

Re. Lizard Gob, this is what Madge has to say:

His knee-high tackle on Clarkson – who was being held by two other Wigan players – prompted a furious reaction from Wakefield coach John Kear, who was summarising for the BBC at the time.

He said Lima deserved a 12-game ban.

But Maguire said: “I don’t think other coaches should be commenting on other players in the game.

“I think it’s wrong. If I was to comment on one of their players I can’t imagine they’d appreciate it.”

As DaveO says and I agree totally agree, it's about time the RFL brought in something similar to 'bringing the game into disrepute' and issued a general edict to all coaches to keep their opinions about other players, teams etc. to themselves unless they are playing the team in question.
We shall see.

I understand that Gary Hethington has been at it as well.

Never liked Wigan after they rejected him as a player in 1976 after a one match trial.

As for his comments, I suggest he should be more concerned about the foul tactics of his own team, especially a certain Ryan Bailey

Aww, he was a bit concussed? Shows that either HE's irresposible or his physio team are irresponsible for letting him play on witha concussion. No dice Longy. And what's all I'm hearing about 'managed to get it downgraded from a CatD to CatC offence? The offence he's charged with hasn't changed, so how can the category? And they're in the rulebook which I'm convinced Scummings is shredding over at Red Hall.
