Ticket post enquiry

Post by mickh »

Could an administrator or moderator please tell me why "New Topic" 1-30pm,ish "Ticket Sales" has disappeared from the full forum regarding sales procedure, queue's etc. No swear words, not intrusive, I know I don't come on here much but I thought everyone had a voice! A pm would do if shy?

I saw it Mick and posted that there was already a thread. That would normally prompt a mod to merge threads but it appears to have been deleted!

It hasn't been deleted it was merged with the original thread.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

 I posted an e-mail to the RFL which I have copied below together with their farcical response
"Dear Sirs
As a Wigan season ticket holder and lifelong Rugby League supporter I feel it necessary to make my feelings known about the complete and utter incompetence that has been shown regarding the Challenge Cup semi finals regarding Wigan and Saint Helens. You have chosen the HJ stadium in Warrington with a capacity of 13,500 to stage a match between two clubs who have consistently generated large crowds whenever they meet and Wigan alone have over 10,000 season ticket holders a large number of which will be unable to attend due to the ridiculously low ticket allocation.
The whole episode will be a lost opportunity to promote the game to a wider audience. The dates for the semi finals were set well in advance and it surely would have been possible to make enquiries early on in the season to see which venues (by which I mean proper sized ones with appropriate facilities capable of hosting such an important fixture – regardless of the teams playing in it) were available.
Once more our fantastic game is made to look second rate and its supporters who incidentally pay your wages are treated as an inconvenience whose opinions count for nothing.
No doubt there will be an ample supply of tickets made available for people at Red Hall as a thank you for their great organisational skills."

Response from RFL
Hi,

Thanks for your email,

The decision regarding where to stage the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals is a three way consultancy process involving the RFL, the clubs and the broadcaster.

We offer a suggestion list of venues which are available on the selected weekend and the clubs come back to us with their suggestions and all four clubs involved were happy with the venues that have been selected.

We take into consideration past semi-final attendance figures, the realistic attendances figures that clubs provide us with and also have to take into account other factors - such as the fact that the games fall very soon after the quarter-finals and that the teams are now only a few weeks away from Wembley.

Several football stadiums were also contacted regarding hosting the games but with the football season beginning so close to the semi-final dates, they were reluctant to offer their pitches to the games.

This link will show a breakdown of past semi-final attendances and shows that the games are traditionally never a sell-out at any stadium http://twitpic.com/5vneyn

Regards
The RFL

Very annoyed. Once upon a time you could take a family along to a semi final and everybody was happy.

13,000 for a Cup semi versus St Helens is too small a venue. It is bollocks. Also annoyed that if sales keep going, many season ticket holders won't be able to purchase any.

Never mind the neutrals.
