I do think the career of a RL forward is amazingly tough and eventually you pay a price body wise. So, Bulls fans were rightly heralding SF for his barnstorming surges. Great but nobody can withstand that battering for any length of time no matter how much they look after their body, especiall;y as they age. You never feel paid at 18-21, 21-24 but 26+ it mounts up.

His latest injury is down to an operation that was performed incorrectly, not self harm. He did overdo it but this was down to his desire to earn his dosh on the field and shut some unjustified imo, doubters up.

Jobo the last 2 injuries SF has tried to do too much, too soon. Whatever the reaasons, SF is screwing up his own fitness repeatedly.

Let's see how he goes for the rest of the Season. Now that Lima's going a fully fit, fully committed Stuart might be an asset worth keeping?

But he had his best season for us in Madges first year, got recalled into the England squad as well so under the right leadership he has shown to be able to up his game

He was definitley committed under Madge, and I have no worries about this under Wane should he regain full fitness.

I personally would never doubt SFs commitment etc. To be honest ever RL pro is brave and commited. The departure of Lima may extend SFs career with Wigan. Maybe not, 2 seasons out is a lot as Hocky found out but as he proved not the end. Whatsmore it can freshen the body / mind. Either way, one would presume SF at best could get a minimal contract from Wigan and/or largely incentive based.

I do think his early career with no self ragard whatsoever for his own safety has hurt his long term career. It was no coincedence that Dennis Betts had a lengthy career and was able to play so many continuous games just by stepping before contact.

I too saw him on the Super League show last night and thought he looked in remarkably good shape for someone who's been injured for so long. He's obviously keeping himself fit in areas that allow and must be sticking to the dietary side of things as he didn't look like he'd put any weight on.
If we can get him back and fit I think he could be a useful asset. Especially as a man to help bring on the likes of Dudson, Crosby etc for a season or two.

I agree his best days are probably gone due to the fact he was one of Super Leagues only 80 minute props for years and that has caught up with him but I wouldn't write him off totally if we can keep his services on a sensible contract.
