Bill Ashurst, Andy Farrell.
Don't care if Faz played mainly 13. Got to be in the team anywhere in the back row.

Like the Poster AnL, will be spot on when all the votes are in.ancientnloyal wrote:Filling up nicely then!... but who will get the #11 shirt? any more second rowers people? have 'til friday morning before the next vote.
Re: ToAT: Second Row: Nominations - Get 'em in!
This is a difficult one as there are several excellent contenders, but a no brainer first choice would have to be The King - Bill Ashurst. Without doubt the most talented forward I've seen. Quite simply a genius and could do everything, recognised as the best forward in the world even by the Aussies.
Now the difficult bit -Andy Goodway, Dennis Betts, and Andy Farrell all grat players worthy of a place.Goodway at his best superb but too often had a 'BA'. Dennis Betts always gave 100% rock solid defence ,ran brilliant lines and scored some great tries. Andy Farrell what can I say - a true great -probably should have been in at loose forward but there's only one winner there for me. Sorry Dennis but I can't leave out Faz.
So it's Bill ashurst, Andy Farrell, Dennis Betts and Andy Goodway in that order with an honourable mention for Dave Robinson

Ok, Ok,
Simply due to the fact that he has been nominated on several occasions, Farrell will be in the vote. But that means he won't be up for the Loose Forward vote which in itself is not a dead cert for Ellery Hanley or anyone else...
Just as Jim Sullivan wasn't a nailed on winner for the fullback vote. (sadly)
Plus, John Pendlebury was a loose forward wasnt he?

Yes Pengie was a loose forward, but i worked on the same theory as Farrell.ancientnloyal wrote:Ok, Ok,

so if Faz is inlcuded as a second rower then I don't think we need to vote. Winners will surely be
Bill Ashurst, not only a top player but hated Stevo..
Andy Farrell.
and Ian Potter as sub

What do you mean Ellery Hanley is not dead cert for the loose forward. He was only the best in the world no one in my memory comes close to him and thats going back 50 or more yearsancientnloyal wrote:Ok, Ok,
