 I'm afraid it's all backfired on us, according to the Express today, Farrell gets £700,000 for 3 years, Wigan have to split £200,000 with RL !

In other word we get rock all, you could'nt even buy back Robinson for £100,000.

If he does get injured I for one would'nt shed a tear,my prediction, probably won't play more than 20 games for Sarecens, and none for England RU before he is forced to retire, due to his wallet scrapping the floor and doing irrepairable damage to his ego !

Bloody good ridance Andy you've ruined our season !!!!
Way too harsh. Yes his departure has damaged us this season but I'd like him to succeed as it would prove a point re RL vs RU. Mind you, how many others would be targetted if he is a superstar? I still wouldn't rule out another attempt at Rads by RU.

 Mark my words :-

1. Carney to Souths to be announced pretty soon, he will join them before next season, maybe a swap.

2. Radlinsky to RU and I bet we get nothing for him.

3. Sculthorpe to RU (SH Scully) next season.

4. Cunningham to RU end next season.

I'll bet this won't be the last, our sport needs an injection of cash to raise the profile. And soon.

1..Nope. End of the season.

2. Nope. he's already said no to them.

3. Nope. South Sydney, if anywhere.

4.. Nope. Not even RU would want him. They have enough slow, overweight hookers.

 I said 'mark my words' not disagree, you'll have to wait and see if it's going to happen, but I'm betting it will, same guy in the Independant who first broke the Farrell fiasco, wrote about this lot a couple of weeks ago !!!!!

rather not mark your words thanks very much!
So what if carney goes to souths, good luck to him.
Rads said no to union once and would like to go and play in france, so wrong again.
Why would we care what happened to scully and cunningham?

:( Just pointing out the current state within our game, this almost happened a few years ago but the RFL put up the funds to fight off the opposition, I'm making the point that it's not happening this time. There's deffinitely a trend.

IMO it is open season on RL players once again given the way this deal has gone through.

He was under contract, the club if not the games most influential player and yet the RFU walk in and take him for £200K.

People say O'Loughlin is his natural replacement. I am starting to wonder if that will be at Saracens RU when Farrell hangs up his boots in two or three years as well as at Wigan now. It won't matter if he is under contract will it. We will just let him go for peanuts on the evidence of this deal.

This is the biggest cock up by the club since Shaun Edwards departure under Eric Hughes.

Back then though at least we had experienced players around. Now we have the most inexperienced squad in SL bar Leigh and that won't change much next season either.

Farrell is important to the team for qualities beyond being a top class player. His experience and leadership can't be replaced so easily. We needed him to help the younger players we were already relying on too much following on from the exit of players like O'Connor and Smith.

It is not just this season this has caused us problems but definately for 2006 and probably beyond.

Every other fan, coach and player outside of Wigan knows this has just about ended what chances we had of silverware this season so which top player will want to come to a team quoted as 80/1 for the title?

Why would they come next season when Saints, Bradford and Leeds can offer them the chance to play in a strong side with genuine chances of winning trophies when what we will offer is a chance to bring on young players?

It is a downward spiral IMO. You need class to attract class and we just are not the attractive proposition we once were for players.

ML should resign for getting the squad into the state it is in.
