Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?
Re: Matty Bowen
If Bowen can play physically then he could be the ideal sort of signing as he would help the young players, not get in their way long term and he is still high quality for our league.
However, if he is crocked then we shouldn't go near him. It could be a bad move financially paying high money an already injured player

Re: Matty Bowen
In the NRL every week its very physical and high tempo and it is no surprise that he can no longer live up to this, In super league he will be able handle it alot easier

Re: Matty Bowen
Interesting that Wigan have actually acknowledged that we are talking to him, while making it clear that we will need a get out if he isn't fit. That's exactly what I hoped to read.
Re: Matty Bowen
He's another I wouldn't touch. No Aussie club wants him that's enough for me.
If we do sign him I hope we include in his contract a pay as you play clause cos i wouldn't like us to lose 200K? for nothing.

Hampshire/Tierney have a fair chance because they're young as Sam was so they are the better option. As good a player as Bowen was we should not be signing him.
Do you think these are the only decent full backs in the NRL ? You obviously havent seen Josh Hoffman, Kevin Locke, Josh Dugan, Jarrod Hayne, Brett Stewart.

Re: Matty Bowen
could his knees not be a good thing provided they're not too bad?
If it's just that his knees need managing and resting for odd games then I would think it's win win, that would then give extra chance for Hampshire or Tierney to get some more experience.
Obviously if his knees are a ticking bomb and he'll be finished if they go then the whole deal is a no go.

Re: Matty Bowen
A potentially excellent full back would be Joe Mellor with the bonus he can play half back too.

Eastmond is part of the England Elite players squad for the new season which puts him in a good place for the 2015 World Cup.
