There was 5.03mins left on clock when it was stopped and Hull packed down for the scrum and it was only restarted on the fifth play when Hull put the kick in that they scored from. I make it that there was an around additional 45 seconds played that should never have been. Take that into account and we probably win the game.
Just got back and I was just going to post about this. The game was in full flow for about 45 seconds before it started ticking again. I thought it was wrong and the hooter would sound before it reached zero but it didn't.
At the end of the day Powell going for a drop 1st play out of the scrum with the clock showing 1:22 was utterly stupid and cost us the game. Absolutely no need for that and even he should know better.
However we packed down quickly to stop the clock and there is a possibility they thought the game was virtually over.

Childs had his usually crap match unable to see a player offside if they were wearing a Hull shirt. As for claiming that our players were not standing square at the play the ball, when the Hull player played it to no one was totally wrong. If he didn't see that he got that wrong he might like to try wearing boxing gloves when he goes to bed. This may aid his eyesight!
The decision and subsequent try following the penalty put Hull on a roll. It was ridiculous. The ball had actually stopped moving backwards.
It's not often these days you see a penalty for NOT playing the ball which you have to do but when the player does stick the rules, plays it despite no one being there and the ref penalises the opposition I give up.

Maybe the future is bright for the club (unless talent like ST ends up going abroad again, but that's another issue), but it's what the management do with that talent here and now. That is what is going wrong at the business end of the season, yet again.
Not a problem with what the young lads did tonight.
BUT it is what the management have been doing with our first team players at the business end which will not bode us well.

When you was back on your home planet last weekend we won the CC Cup final!! Obviously you don't know this as you didn't post a reply all last week so I thought I would let you know! As for the management, they have just won 1 of 2 major trophies and are still very much in the running for the 2nd irrelevant of form, oh how terrible they are, sack them all. I really hope you have been sat next to RobWigan all night and are steaming and realise/regret how stupid your posts are.

Irrelevant of form????
That's my whole point.
I had people who do and don't watch rugby coming up to me and still say Wigan weren't convincing in the cup win.
Compare this with our form earlier in the season when we were practically destroying teams.
i am quite tipsy, but i sit on the bottom row at the DW before the backlash starts!!! Hahah! But he must be drunk to not realise you cannot play your full team every week and win both trophies

Glad to know Deacon was doing this and it was indeed a screw up. Takes some flak away from Powell going early I think.
What a bunch of total amateurs we have running our sport.

Maybe SW shouldn't have rested so many first teamers, but he did. He is the head coach and he is paid for making those calls. As if you were first team coach you would have that decision, but as you don't appear to be I guess we better stick with SW making the decision until you take over in the post!

Read my previous post as to how SW should do it better. Experiment earlier on.....
And again to you, the future may be bright, but I say again the way SW as gone about this season, this season won't end with any more silver.
Yes we won the CC but unconvincingly and with an easier run up to the final.
