I'm no where near as well up on the plays & tactics in a game. But I am astute enough to know that you cannot play a prop, even if he has played it somewhere maybe one or two times before, at
LOOSE FORWARD!!
He needs to be on the pitch for 80 minutes for a start, he needs to be quick thinking, have quick hands & feet, be able to pass, tackle & defend.
I'm not blaming Petal but he is no way a LF sorry

Flower has played 13 before so it wasn't totally out of order to try it. I think it was his original position for Crusaders/Wales but not sure about that.
Trouble is it soon became apparent he really is a prop now and we had Tuson on at 13 again at some point.
I don't know how badly affected Burke has been by the bereavement but having been there myself I for one wanted to get back into the real world ASAP and so I reckon he'd probably benefit from being included anyway.
On tonight's showing I'd include Hampshire and Burke in the 17 and drop Green and one of the other forwards for Hudds. We need to see if Hampshire can do it against a better side in a game we can afford to lose.
If Wane sticks to the same squad after that (and other games when the majority of the 1st team played with similar results) he wants shooting.

Prepare to shoot him! He's too pig headed, and more importantly, too slow between the ears to either learn or change!

Lots of teams play players who are capable at prop and LF. Here and in Aus, including Origin. There is no problem with this team choice if you adapt your tactics to suit your personal. Wane doens't bother doing this and the result is what we saw last night. Long passes to and from static half backs who are set really deep for no runners that have any momentum to pass to because you've already allowed the defensive line to get in your face.
If you play a forward who isn't the worlds best handler there then you should be playing a power & field position game. We looked like we might do that for the first 20 minutes but then we ditched that, forgot about running the ball in hard with forwards around the A defenders and started throwing it wide or sending players back at the markers.
Wane hasn't learned anything that Wembley suggested he may have. We need it to rain rain rain in the playoffs so then we might play more like we did at Wembley, work over a targeted group of opponents, then drives down the middela nd good kicks, defend ourselves into ascendency and then take advantage where you can of the work you've done to tire some opponents.
You have to pick the best option at 13 to suit your game plan. Problem is, the game plan is all wrong at this point in the year where you're playing the best teams who have worked on how to defend your normal style and are good enough to implement what they've worked on.

I used to enjoy Farrel running on to a SO pass into the hole.Without SO it was the obvious choice.Having said that,he had one of his better games last.
