Tomkins for England RU!

Got anything else on your mind that isn't about the Warriors? If you do, this is the place to post.

Neither would pull on a England League shirt in the present set up.Anyway Union gets more coverage in the media than our game so why oh why do we need to discuss them in this medium.Take it to the Union team's web site. Hacked off :exc:
You obviously don't watch RU or you wouldn't make sweeping statements like that. Today's union is every bit as skillful passionate committed as RL. I know I watch and love both sports not just on TV either never missed a WW home game and went to a few away including Challenge Cup final and Play off final. I also watch and follow Sale Sharks home and away, plus International matches at Twickenham, Murrayfield Old Trafford so reckon I my opinion to carry some credibility. And just what is wrong with this thread, singing the praises and achievements of successful Wigan rugby players. They are a credit to the town and their sport.
:eusa2: :eusa2: A good post and to be honest, I'm surprised you hadn't reacted sooner to some of the blinkered comments by a few on here, that seemed to be intent on poking fun at, belittling or just provoking reaction, in their posts about the Union game.

OK I give in but my comments are not blinkered.Far from it.I find a Union game puts me to sleep even when I'm not feeling tired. :(

I have tried on numerous occasions to take an interest in the union game but to be blatantly honest it does nothing to rock my boat.

My best wishes to Joel on this achievement it's just a shame he's still not plying his trade in league.

But for those that enjoy both codes enjoy!!

I can watch it (union) but I find League far better. In terms of Union, I much prefer the Southern Hemisphere brand of Union which is much more akin to League IMO.

Rugby Union in this country is now only better in skill and fitness as a result of the numerous coaches and ex players who have been recruited as coaches in their game since 1996.

Prior to them selling their sole and their hatred of professionalism, their game was only about the home International Championship as club rugby was poor and watched by far less people than it is getting today. Even Sale now get better crowds at the Salford ground instead of one man and his dog at Brookslands Roads in Sale.

Problem is that those who have gone to Union have only done so for the money and not in my opinion for the love of the game.

Their game may have more money and get more media attention but it still cannot beat our game for better quality and excitement and hopefully will never do so.

To say union is amateurish is pathetic. Joel was pushed aside by a handoff in a one on one today. He was left on his arse flailing thin air. Didnt see that happen once in the SL

He wouldn't have pushed joel aside when he was fitter and stronger playing for Wigan 2 seasons ago.

That is bad, as most of the best rugby players in Australia are in Rugby League.

Sad that the national media in our country still think that the Wallaby is bigger than the Kangaroo.
