I think it would be a bad move for him at the present time. Just look at Jordan Baldwinson and Mason Tonks.

IMO it's a great move for him personally look how Sam & George have turned out, good club, good coach so what's there to lose for him personally

Typical move by IL, let an outstanding prospect slip through our fingers but retain Jordan James.Sutton will probably gain some valuable experience in Oz then come back and sign for Wire or Saints and do a Matty Russell

Your not going to be far wrong there. I don't no where this they will come back to Wigan Has better players comes from. Why would they want to come back to a club that let them go because they thought they was not worth a better deal than they where on. And believe me he will not be the last young star we will lose before end of season.

The Leeds lads. Do you not think it was possibly meant to be that way? I.E Go out their for a season and return?

I have always advocated our youngsters spending a season in the NRL system provided they are on contract. The risk is they want to stay there but it is a risk worth taking.

The big issue for me is Wigan have decided to put their eggs in the youth development basket (albeit going for James style player as backup). You have to develop those youngsters properly, look after them on / off the field. If you lose those players you are left with the Jordan James of this world and no great youngsters.

Likewise, if you go the youth route then you have to retain the very best ones and IMO Sutton is one of those.
Exactly! We cannot lose the best youngsters if they are the ones supposedly replacing the experienced players.

All the logic of bringing young lads through will unravel if players like Sutton go, and will furthermore show the spin is bs!

Any different than Hargreaves, O'Carroll, Spencer etc?

All consider to be good props, but were released as we can't keep them all, only the ones that the club think are better.

Just a differing view!

A reasonable comment but never the less as a further example, what if one of the young half backs go, the great philosophy is again thrown out of the window!?
