Theo Fages resignation.

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Koukash is an egotist.Yes he is very rich and thinks this entitles him to have his own way in everything he is involved in.He has become a laughing stock and in turn is making Salford Red Devils a joke.At last even the Salford fans are becoming embarrassed by his behaviour. It is no coincidence that so many players and other staff want out.The sooner he is out of our game the better and believe he will go in the not too distant future.

So what is Rocky going to do sit and wait as he is now knowing inside 18 months he will start or we sign Fages and let both go.
Did I say that?
You need to deal in reality and not fantasy. If Smith goes and Fages gets a deal he will want more than 2 years and a big chunk of the cap, More than Smith i would guess. So 2 expendable players in the halves would need to go to cover him on the cap.

Or Williams goes.

You will say Sam Powell to go but he covers hooker and is beginning to show potential at last.

Ok since you have all the facts, what salary is Smith, Hampshire and Fages paid? Has Fages told you he would want more than a two year deal? I think that it is you who needs to deal in reality, you are simply making these things up!

How do you know that Rocky is going to be a first team player in 18 months, how do you know he'll just sit around and wait? Who is he going to replace?

If Rocky was not going to be in the 1st time just like others who Wane does not want they would be let go. Thornley, Dudson, Hughes, Taylor etc.

Wherever Fages goes he will be wanting as much if not more than he is on at Salford and he will not be on peanuts now given Koucash statement about a transfer fee.

Would you sign a 2 year deal if you were as good as him its common sense to think he is looking at a 4 year deal minimum given his age and potential. After all he is just like Rocky 20 but difference is he has started to prove himself at SL level which Rocky has not been given a chance to at 6 and failed at FB.

If Rocky does not want to wait it will be his loss as so far he has done little as a SL player to prove himself and how many players over the last 20 years have comeback better after leaving us. Long about the only 1 i can think of. If he wants to go where Saints (Fages is going apparently) so with Walsh and Burns seems Saints is a no go.

Wire - Gidley and Sandow so that is a no go unless he sits it out
Leeds - potential could as they are losing Sinfield but i can not see Mcguire moving for him.

So the bigger question is where does he go if he wants to go Leeds only viable option if he wants to play for a top side but i do not think they would risk him. Nevermind how good you think Rocky is he has done nothing at SL for a top side to sign him inless they want him for the future. Now given he is ready made for when Smith hits his 30's and 1 year left on his contract i think see i think he could be ready then.

BTW the board is for opinions just like your mine means sod all as well

I do wonder at what point will Koucash up sticks and leave Salford and in what state will he leave it in?,for me anyone who thinks this man has "saved" the club is borderline delusional, you simply can not run a professional sports club the way he is,indeed any buisness for that matter.

Given that onslaught of court cases seemingly stacking up against him, coaches and players seemingly in the wrong apart from him,it is as Elton John once sang a sad,sad situation and the sooner Koucash goes the better the whole of RL will be becuase he's turning the sport into a laughing stock.

He can't leave it in any worse shape than he found it.

Must agree though, court cases, especially involving player contracts doesn't look good or do him any favours.

Does anyone know exactly what the club are supposed to have done wrong by Theo? In this instance it appears to me like they are trying to engineer a move. Different to the other staff issues at Salford. Still, worrying is going on. Worrying that Koukash seems to think he can do and say what he wants, when he wants, but no one else gets to. He is obviously a source of unrest at that club. If he learns his lessons about running a rugby league club, like he keeps saying he has, then it'll be good fit Salford and the game in the long run, but at the moment it all looks a bit small minded and destructive.

i think it this instance its no different than any other club apart from the fact the Dr isnt looking to cash in on players as soon as they get an offer for them
