If they know he is leaving for def at the end of 2016 then the club should be proactive and remove his name from the playing roster then his wages do not count towards the salary cap. Stains are much more adept at managing the salary cap see Wellens going into early retirement so they could sign the Aussie fullback.
I guess that would help at the start of next season, but we can't bring anyone in now can we?

Maybe this will force the club's hand a bit to bring in the experienced quality centre that the fans have been looking for.
If this was going to force the Club's hand you'd expect them to have been on the case as soon as they found out the severity of his injury, which would certainly have been before the fans!
You know what they're like. They like to hold on to bad news until they have some good news to go with it. Maybe they are waiting to announce sargs injury until they've got a replacement lined up? Can't really see any reason why they can't announce his injury status TBH so it must be a conspiracy like that!

What about Eastmond now he's been discarded by the onion mob. With our ties with Bath we would be in a Good position.

Wire were rumoured to be signing him but have denied it.
He will be on a massive salary at Bath compered to SL so maybe he could be the Marquee Signing.

Eastmond played centre for Saints and England so in that position he would be a good fit.

Good call, I reckon he is worth the risk (and that'd give the Saints speccys, who roundly boo'd him while still their player after he announced he was leaving for the other code, something to really whinge about over their Friday tripe and chips)

Eastmond is a liability, always was.
No thanks not for me.

Seem to remember CP saying he had troubles with his shoulders, also him playing for so long in a game that is nowhere near as intense as RL could he step back up to that level.

Your spot on Slim, from memory he had trouble with one shoulder in particular that affected his ability to tackle.
His attitude at Saints was poor but much of that could have been down to his move to Yawnion.
Personally I don't think he's worth the risk and I suspect he would be expecting a kings ransom as a salary.

Long time out that.
I hope he is not the same player, he needs to improve.
