Would that stop rumours or add to them?
However if there wasn't an incident then they could say there wasn't. But then theyd have to every time someone started a semi plausible rumour because of they didn't we'd all assume it was true.
It's a tricky situation communication wise.
The media are doing a job of saying that WWRLFC are currently taking disciplinary action against a club player.
Do the club state this is lies, agree that such action is taking place or just say nothing.
I'd say that in this situation, where more than one media outlet are republishing a rumour, the club should issue a statement one way or the other on Monday. If they can't deny anything they won't be able to say much though.

This is just a general reminder and had not been prompted by anything specific.
Thanks.
Exactly Mike, You only have to look at the different versions of what took place on here.
It is bad enough having our enemies like the Leigh and anti Wigan clown called 'Peawapp' on Wigan World having his usual petty swipe at Wigan including calling Wane a thug without any of our supporters joining the bandwagon of speculation on what actually took place.
As for calling the club for not handling it well, how can anyone say that when no doubt, they are holding a internal investigation and until the truth facts are known are right not to comment, apart from possibly saying that the alleged matter is being look into by club officials.

Absolutely mental rumours going around about who it is and what it involves that I probably can't repeat here, but anyone know if there's any truth in it? Obviously we know one of the players is in trouble, but does anyone know more/can say more?
All I am going to say if a player gets fired or suspended by the club then it proves that the coach has his golden boys. And nevermind how poor they are they get preferential treatment.
. How do you work that out?

What is paramount in all of this is that the club's good reputation is maintained. This matter needs to be sorted out internally, as it would appear that no criminal action is being brought, if an incident has occurred. When due process has been applied then the club can then make whatever statement they think is relevant and legal. No individual should have their case heard or aired in public, we need to remember that in this country you are innocent until proven guilty!

Surely the player in question should be given a second chance, it can't be as bad as being banned for cocaine use, after all you get a new 5 year contract for cocaine abuse, surely an extended contract would be in order

I guarantee that it's the fans of the other SL clubs trying to make a mountain out of a molehill!!

The silence of the club again is frustrating.
The club will probably have heard about this incident the same way the fans have, so no doubt they will have to conduct an investigation. They aren't going to start naming names and describing incidents in detail because they will no doubt have to speak to those involved and also to any witnesses.
Anyone expecting an in depth analysis of everything that went down will no doubt be disappointed. If anything comes of it then the club will name the player and the punishment and a vague reason why. That's all any club would do.
Exactly. The club have already stated that a player may face disciplinary action. At present that's all they can say legally, until a full investigation has taken place. It then maybe a verbal warning, written warning, fine and/or suspension or contract termination dependent on severity of the offence and contract terms. Remember how long the Hardaker incident, Karl Pryce incident etc took to resolve.

God wrote:By just naming the players brought before disciplinary would IMO be enough, just like the sleeping pills and red bull incident in the NZ camp. This would draw a line under the whole thing and appease not only share holders but fans alike.
I'm a shareholder, and I'm appeased by the fact that the club are following due process and dealing with this internally.

Irrelevant as to which players it is, it's shameful for the club if it's anything like what is being reported. For a group of players to have to come in and answer questions on what has happened / what they saw cannot fail to cause ripples and divisions in a squad.

Hang on a minute, the reality is that neither you nor I know what's gone on.
What we do know is that the internet has taken gossip in the past and multiplied it by 100!
Until the full details come out I will be reserving judgement.
