OK maybe I've overstated my case but sometimes that's necessary to get the point across.
I find it has the opposite effect, if you over-state/exaggerate something it loses credibility for me.
I have mentioned deleting posts when I should have said deleted/edited/amended whatever.

For my info, could you explain what the moderators' powers are. For example, I take it you can enter a post and edit the text - do you make it plain when this has been done?
A moderator has the ability to edit any message, or even delete the whole post. It will say at the top of the editted post who was the last person to edit it. Any changes I make are often put in italics, MrsLam and Fraggle tend to leave a message at the bottom saying why they made the change. I've taken your feedback on board and I'll be sure to leave a note next time I delete anything with a reason why.
Regarding the rest there is definitely a clique (you know who you are!) with a group of hangers on surrounding it (you know who you are too!). OK, maybe not a clique but "like minded individuals"?
There are groups of like minded individuals, some have similar opinions to you, some don't. I think you're being a bit paranoid on this one mate (before you say it my clique is not out to get you )

WOW. I didn't know that it would create all this, it was only a idea that i thought, that most 'ALL' of you dont agree with.

I do like the site becaue i do information about wigan. But i was just saying to make it better for me, and who ever else to put little games on. Some times i get bored od read some of the stuff that is put on, and if the site had games on i could play them, while im on the site. I get bored of coming on an there is nufin good to read and then going off.

But just remember it is just a idea.

..open up another Internet Explorer window (or similar program) and try a site like www.yahoo.co.uk/games then you can go between both pages and not get bored! Just an idea!

Don't worry Warriors, your idea isn't what has sparked off all these discussions about what moderators can/can't/should/should not/do/don't do. As I suggested originally, your idea's fine but someone needs to create the kind of thing you want, unfortunately it takes time, effort and know-how which we may not have.

Thanks for the info Fraggle and Rob. One last point - what does it cost to provide a site like this? We all use it constantly but I for one don't contribute financially.

Does it cost Mike a fortune, does it break even somehow, or are all the clique Bill Gates style billionaires sharing Mike's massive earnings from this site?

Heydude and Waterside Glens are prime examples. Never start a debate but are always ready to shoot someone down.

I've not got a problem with this - I'll just not post anything for debate, but please don't try to portray this site as a mouthpiece for free speech!!

The outsiders get deleted, the insiders can swear like f***, insult the rest and still get away with it. I've quoted many facts to prove this and no-one has been able to come back because it's all been true.

Double standards, insider crowd, "yes" men (and women), etc.

ADMIT WHAT YOU ARE!!
jimmy reading your posts always makes me laugh oh sorry shooting you down i do apologizes.

I think there are some adverts on the left hand side somewhere that we're all supposed to click on from time-to-time to generate a few pennies towards the site. I'll admit I don't do so often enough, I'll have to make a mental note to click every time I'm on. I know some people insist everything on the web should be free, but I'm always happy to pay for a service if I make good use of it. I pay for my email provider, despite the existence of Hotmail, G-Mail and the rest, because Postmaster works for me, I don't have to put up with adverts, I get the email address I wanted and it helps keep a British company afloat. I'd happily pay a small fee for this place as well, for the amount of fun and pleasure I get spouting cr@p on here it'd be worth it.

As for riches for the clique: us moderators are unpaid volunteers, so no big payday for anyone!
