Eddies glee at Sts winning and his second love Leeds coming back from the dead was severely tempered by the realisation that Wigan have gone clear top. He almost gulped when he said it.

Wigan TOP OF SL!!
Lockers early guilty plea / fantastic record - 4 matches reduced to 2?
That severe cp really? When is red card sufficient used? I hope it's not a big ban!!

OK someone please explain how the hell did we win that game and how the hell have we gone top of SL playing some of the crap we have all season.
Seriously tonight was a great at showing why we are top we do not go away. No other side in SL could win that game tonight with missing so many players and playing for virtually 70 min with 12.
If it was the other way round score would have been a hammering of 70-80 points.
So we missed Gelling, Sarge, Moose, Crosby, Tomkins, MM, Faz, Bateman, Clubb we got SOL sent off and 2 sinbins. And Frank incoming.
When you look at that it was some win tonight.

It wasn't a great tackle IMO TB but that is just my call. It was poor though by Lockers.
The RFL are anything but logical. Look at the Saints lad, got 10 matches for Rochdale then does the same thing for Saints v Wigan and gets 5 matches for an identical 'tackle'.

All things being equal that was a terrible high shot from Lockers and worth a 2 - 4 match ban. You can't argue the 'the player was stepping' argument when you've shot out the line like Lockers did, and he could've caused serious injury. There's an element of risk when you go looking for a big shot - Lockers knows it and tonight it backfired.

I think it can be put down directly to the frustration being caused by the joke of a ref Childs.
The game was getting heated and lockers ran in trying to put in a big hit. That said he still did it the red card cant be argued with.

Just got back and I'd agree with that. Lockers had already had a go at Childs for the second sin binning pointing back to toward the Wakey line no doubt reminding the ref of the two professional fouls against us. I think he had had enough of the ref and I wouldn't be surprised if Childs had had enough of Lockers.
There was then the bit of a dust up and bat that point the ref wasn't in control. The in Lockers went.
Stupid from him though. Bang in half time, Wigan in front so no need for it. His first sending off and I expect he will be kicking himself for it.
As to the game I don't know how we won. When I posted about Lockers losing us the game Jones-Bishop had just scored in the corner with Wigan stretched and so it seemed obvious of they were patient they would get plenty more such overlaps but they kept going up the middle as if each of their players thought they could win it single handed.
Hats off to Tierney as well. His tries was not easy scores but it was the forwards that won it for me. Tea Towel, Flower and Sutton were a real handful. Flower in particular ran some clever lines picking out the small men and making yards.
I thought Wane had given up at one point. The young players were on and we were 18-10 down then we score on back on comes TT and someone else (can't remember who) and then Wakey knock on and bingo! The DW went bonkers, the Wakey fans (all 50 of em ) looked shell shocked.

Another backs against the wall win. Mr T was easily MoM for me, it shows how good he was because Sutton and Flower had great games too. His body laguage lifted the team everytime he was involved. This wasn't the same player as last season, he looked the real deal tonight to me.
Williams and Tomkins take a lot of pressure off Smith, both link play very well.
Some of the young lads looked a little out of depth but will be better for the run out. Shorrocks though looks a fantastic prospect, you don't notice that he's played a couple of games at top level, he looks so comfortable with ball in hand and always looks to have time. If he can stay fit we will have a star on our hands.

I thought he was very good and as you say lifted the team when he came on. I like his approach to the game and you get the impression there is no such thing as a lost cause for him.
