You better watch out Meds you will be next on his hit list of non fans   He reminds me of the Dad's army sketch when the German prisoner is taking down the names of everybody.
That's right, resort to your usual sarcastic comments against anyone who has the audacity to say anything about your excuses for not attending games.

And as I was only adding to the comment of someone else, why have a go at me!

Can one imagine a top 4 team in the Premier League taking that sort of support to an FA cup semi based on what their normal home attendance normally is - why did thousands of us not travel to the game ?

It looked all so wrong on TV , packed Hull ends of the ground with a few sections(if even that?) filled only by us! We are Wigan for goodness sake - something is not right here with that support?!!

My excuse for not being there to those who will accept it was 1) just returned from my summer hols & 2) was keeping money to fly over to London next month

A&L (just like Belfast!)
I finished work at five and didn't fancy going over the hill at that time, simple as. Now if that makes me a p poor supporter then that's what I am and have been since I saw Billy B when I was a lad!
No it doesn't make you a p poor supporter. That was & is my argument with this & others complaints about the attendance!

The majority who are complained about the attendance didn't even go themselves! Bloody Hypocrites

Going over the M62 on a Friday is a nightmare at the best of times!!

There's no problem with me for those who didn't/couldn't attend for whatever reason but I'm not prepared to hear complaints about the attendance & complaints about those fans who did find a way to attend by those who didn't!
Going over the M62 last night was lighter than usual possibly due to it being the main holiday season when the kids are off school.

I wish you would stop posting nonsense but hey that would mean not posting! Lack of effort. You really have NO IDEA about me or anybody else so it is far better you keep quiet! Safe to say I only watched the first half later as I only got back with a young child asleep after collecting my wife from work so HOW the F do you expect me to make it to Doncaster!! on a FRIDAY. Hey as an 18-21 year old making every game was EASY as it is for somebody retired now

You are a gobshite!

Why don't you just simply admit that you do not go to away games, most of which are on a Friday night with a trip to Doncaster being no different than a Super League fixture at Hull or Hull KR.

Still clueless! EVERYBODY here is a big Wigan fan, some attend EVERY match, some do not for all legitimate reasons BUT all are dedicated supporters!

There are people who genuinely can't attend games for whatever reason. There are also people who didn't try as much as they could to get to last night's game. Then there are people who went.

They are all supporters of the club. They all prioritise their support of the club in different ways.

The first and third group aren't a problem. The middle group are.

I work, sometimes long hours, sometimes on long hours on Fridays. I'm not rich, but going to watch Wigan is the main hobby have that really costs me more than petrol money now I'm married and go to the pub or music gigs less. I don't have children. I generally go to games with my uncle who is s farmer and works from about 6am until 6pm most days, other than Friday's when he rushes home for 5:30. My younger brother, who is a college student who gets most of his tickets paid for by uncle, dad or me. And an old school friend who works similar to me but has a 3 year old and 8 year old.

I could book an early finish, so I did, and went. My brother came because he can. It doesn't work like that for my uncle on the farm and he'd have needed an early finish and late start, which would mean using up his holidays twice, so he couldn't go. My friend has to put his kid to bed, so as well as not being able to come, he actually missed part of the game on TV too. As it happens, we took another friend who could also arrange a slightly earlier finish at work, isn't a Wigan fan but is a rugby fan and wanted to see this game.

I'm explaining this because it's OK for people to have different circumstances that mean there's a reason for non attendance.

However there will also have been people who didn't make the effort in their own circumstances to attend. If you didn't try to leave work a bit early, or don't have young kids (say, under 13) that you needed to care for, or could afford it but knew the TV was cheaper, then you should've tried to be there. To me it's that simple.

For that group of people, those who with a little effort could have been there, there aren't reasons, there are excuses. But let's not use Doncaster as the excuse, or Friday nights, because we last played in the semi final in 2013 in Leigh on a Saturday, and the ground was only half full. You can't even blame the way we were playing, as we were good in attack in 2013. It's an attitude thing, and it disappoints that people look for excuses rather than turn out.

To the ones that were there, it was a pretty decent noise we tried to make when outnumbered about 3-1. Although, let's not bother with the stupid hand clap thing yeah.

I had a ticket for last nights game, but was let down with childcare at the last minute, and by the time I had made other arrangements it only gave me 2hrs 20 mins to get from Kendal to Doncaster. Rather than break my neck to get there and get a speeding ticket I gave up and did not set off. Despite the timing and location I thought the Wigan fan turnout last night was shocking. Some of us are making big sacrifices to follow our team, whilst I think there is a big element of supporters who cannot be arsed any more. It is at times like these that we need to get behind the team.

Correct, Sheepdip with now too many making petty excuses and perfering to watched the too many Wigan games on television.

Our current problems been well documented on this forum over the last few hours, but I don't think it should be an excuse to stop going. You are suppose to follow your club through thick and thin. The vast majority of sporting teams are unsuccessful. Whatever happened to the spirit of 2006. I seem to remember attendances rose that year.

WW, you really are a better supporter than most. What does that get you?
For the record I watched last nights match on the telly with the Mrs and a takeaway. What did that get me? ????

I don't understand the majority of this thread.

If you want to go to watch the game, go.

If you don't, stay.

Each to their own.
