I can't remember if they went direct or via other clubs first but Bobby Goulding and Kevin Iro went. Gilmour went there as well but again after being somewhere else first.

Of the others mentioned, Goulding was a ticking time bomb, both here and at Saints. Sure Kevin Iro went home after he left Wigan. Lee Gilmour and Ducky O'Donnell couldn't command a first team spot at Wigan but not sure if they went direct.
As for Ricky Bibey, we probably paid for him to play for Saints!

According to Wikipedia Bibey played for Leigh before Saints. Do not know if we loaned him out for that season to Leigh.

If I remember correctly, Bibey was on loan at Leigh from Wigan.
Saints signed him from Leigh not knowing he was on loan.
Saints then had to pay Wigan a fee for Bibey.
I'm pretty sure it went to the RFL arbitration board who ruled in Wigan's favour and Saints had to cough up around £50k for Ricky Bibey.
Anyone remember this?
Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I seem to remember Joey Heyes, the Saints phsyo having a stint at Wigan. Thought he played for us against Saints and was shoulder charged in the face by an ex Waterloo RU player whose name I can't recall. But he was a really dirty player. Joey went off. Can't find any record of him ever playing for us tho'

No mention of him playing for us on his Wikipedia page (not that that is anything to go by!)
