Top notch info (as usual) :thum: :thum:
Now the conspiracy theorists can go to town.
Did Wane blatantly look for work outside the club and this has had an "unsettling" effect?
Did the club make it known they were not going to extend his deal so he jumped ship and announced he was going even before completing this deal with Scottish RU?
Has all this been like a complete chain of luck, announce he is leaving then offers from other sports come in immediately?

Crowds are dropping for any one of a multitude of reasons but to deny that some of the tedium served up by the team in the last few years had nothing to do with it is nothing less crazy
I've been sat bored sh7tless in weather less than appealing and clock watching instead of the fumbling around on the pitch, hoping the ref doesn't blow for stoppages as 80 minutes was hard enough

Well said.

Didn't know Townsend had been down watching Wigan train.
Sounds like Wane won't be spending all his time with the National team either, but out with their Rugby Academy etc. Best of luck to him.
Agree that Wigan's game has become tedious, I used to happily make a 4 hour round trip to watch, whereas recently I've turned down 2 hour round trips to Cas and Hull KR cos of what's on offer. It simply doesn't excite me anymore.

Well said Dave, Gimble and Vodoo, as a season ticket holder I have missed a lot of the matches this season as I am not enjoying the games at the DW anymore. I pay my money to be entertained. The tripe that has been offered the last few seasons means that I'm still waiting for "value for money".
I know you are not daft Mr Lenegan but please note, you cannot let the greatest Rugby League team in the World sink any further.
PS. Given the correct scenario I will pay more for my ticket.
Here's to the future!
Good luck Shaun.
Mick

It strikes me that Shaun has taken an easier job in the short term and can be well in the frame for the GB job when Bennett quits after his contract is up, 2019 I believe. If that's his thinking, well good luck to him and good luck also in Scotland.
Maybe he assumed that the GB job would be open to offers after this season. I just hope it all works out whatever he does.

Good luck to the man, I liked the fella...but I’m a little tired of hearing what he’s doing in the future...I’d rather here who his replacement is.

It will be interesting to see how he goes over there. I cant imagine him enjoying not having full control of everything but maybe im wrong.
Good luck to him, no matter what you think of him as a coach you cannot question his dedication to Wigan. He bleeds cherry and white and while i dont agree with a lot of his methods there is no questioning his passion, whether he can replicate that for a non wigan side will be interesting
