I am pretty sure that the leg is broken. He can't seem to kick this injury. Already come back from it 3 times. He does seem to get better and more determined every time he comes back though.

Feeling extremely sorry for him at the moment as the second time he broke it was just before the 2001 grand final which he would've played in with Parra and now he's done it again just before the Tigers' grand final appearance which he deserves to be in more than anyone. Poor guy isn't meant to play in a grand final i don't think.

News just in....

Richards has not broken his leg, but may have ligament damage. He still may play in the GF.

Do not worry my people for a rare event has occurred!

Pat's a big relief for Warriors
Wigan Warriors today welcomed some rare good news on the the injury front.
Club officials breathed a collective sigh of relief when an X-ray revealed new recruit Pat Richards has not broken his ankle for a second time, as originally feared.
But the Wests Tigers flier is on crutches after damaging ligaments and will be forced to sit out the NRL Grand Final at the weekend.
Richards was stretchered off during a play-off eliminator between Tigers and St George-Illawarra last weekend.
The initial diagnosis was a cleanly broken leg at best and a wrecked ankle at the worst, but a scan has left such
worries unfounded.
Chairman Maurice Lindsay said: "I rang Pat yesterday after he had just completed an X-ray and an MRI scan.
"We were both relieved to discover he has not actually broken any bones, but there was some damage to the
ligaments which sadly will rule him out of the Grand Final.
"I don't suppose it's good news, but it could have been a lot worse."
The injury will delay Richards' arrival at the JJB Stadium, the original end of November arrival date now put back a few weeks.
Lindsay added: "The ligament damage will take a few weeks to settle down and he will continue to have
treatment in Australia before joining us in December.
"It was sad to see the lad carried off the field as I think he has been outstanding for Wests this year.
"We have been worried all weekend and for a while I thought our injury curse of last season had struck again.
"Now it appears it is not as bad as was first thought, but Pat will obviously be devastated missing his chance to play in a Grand Final.
"However, like us, he is relieved he has not broken the ankle for a second time."
Richards said: "It will be tough to miss the Grand Final but it will make me even more determined to reach further finals with Wigan."
A Wigan RL fan has won £1,250 – but doesn't realise it.
The top Golden Gamble prize drawn when Warriors lost to St Helens at the JJB Stadium more than two weeks ago has still not been claimed.
Despite being posted on the club's website, the holder of winning ticket 0872 has still not collected the cash.
Lotto boss Keith Mills says the draw will have to be held again if the winner cannot be traced. It could belong to a Saints fan in town for the game.
The holder should ring Keith or Vicky on 01942 231321 or call in at the Lotto shop on Hilton Street.
Hope Mo wraps him up in cotton wool and keeps him in a cupboard (with UV automated UV lighting so that he doesn't lose his colour and claim kidnap)

??? I'm confused

I find it pretty amusing that Tigers doctors have now said the leg isn't broken when they were 99% certain it was the day before. Ah well good on Patty. Hope he plays on the weekend, will be there cheering him on if he does.

From http://www.smh.com.au/news/league/murra ... click=true
Injured Wests Tigers winger Pat Richards was named in a 19-man squad and remains hopeful of overcoming a ligament tear in his right ankle to play after yesterday discarding his crutches.

Richards, who is receiving treatment in a hyperbaric chamber, joined his teammates at Concord Oval yesterday for an open training session in front of thousands of Tigers fans.

"The swelling has come down today so I'll just keep doing my rehab but things are going well so far," Richards said. "I was on crutches yesterday and couldn't put any pressure on it, so to be walking today pain free is good. The coach has said he will give me up until Saturday, so I'll keep working hard and hopefully things will work out."
The rest of the article is about North Queensland coach Graham Murray whinging and complaining about something, it's been 5/6 years since he returned to Aus from the Superleague but he's not changed at all! Miserable sod, I never liked the man.
