Green was underrated, he was a lot better than people thought.

I don't know where this idea that Cust played mostly at 9 for Manly came from; it's not my recollection, and I watch every NRL game. Yes, he filled in there a fair few times, but my memory is that he played mostly at 6, when Foran was injured (as he quite often is). That said, it's still a decent option to have.

Not just me, then! I might add that I'm not really convinced Cust is a good enough defender to be a long-term 9; certainly not as good as Powell, and probably not as good as Shorrocks either. Although I agree that JS *isn't* a hooker, he's had better games at 9 than last night. And we still have O'Neil. But Cust switched to 9 is not a bad option to have.

I’d have him at 9 all day long over shorrocks, he really sped up the play, agree about his defence though

I didn't think Shorrocks was as bad as many said - he looked and played like Powell.

Given he was pretty bad, if you want confirmation Powel is a poor No. 9, there you have it.
