Well Nathan who do you play for? Maybe we should come and watch you. You may be one to keep in mind for the future

Carney does have strength, but he has no direction to his game. It's okay bouncing off players, but he makes no meters forward. All he does is bounce off the defensive line like a crab. He has become far too bulky for a winger. Dallas makes far more meters by running straight with the ball, unlike Carney he seems to understand how to contribute from the wing. Unlike carney, Dallas has always scored tries no matter what the team is around him. He takes his opportunities, where Carney can't.
I also think you seem to have forgot what a centre should possess. Pace, skill, balance, power, and the ability to provide good ball to his wing. Non of which Aspinwall has.
When Carney was playing at his best for us he'd evade one tackle run forward, evade another and make more metres. You are correct in saying that sometimes he'd move out of one tackle and into another making no metres, but he'd offload taking the tacklers out of the game, not your typical wing play but it worked when we were in out own half and on occassion he managed to make a break. Playing outside of a centre (which was Aspinwall incidently) he scored good tries in the 2003 seasons (his best season).

If Aspinwall has none of the aforementioned attributes why were so many comparing him to Gary Connolly when he first came onto the scene? He showed that he had all of the above and showed potential, I think he'll play a lot better when he goes to Huddersfield.

he has played this season and i play against people big well over 6 ft he should catch the high balls.
It's one thing playing when you are 14 years old, just wait til you go open age it's a totally different type of game. Have you ever tried to catch a ball with half a dozen Kiwis running at you, with 15,000 people watching you and knowing that if you drop it you could contribute to the result of the match? I doubt it. The worst thing you could have said is comparing yourself to a professional player. there are loads of players and ex players on this site (myself included). but have you ever heard any of us talking about how good or bad we are?

Carney is a World Class player, admittedly he hasn't done much for the last year or so, but I would put money on him playing well this weekend at the JJB. I bet none of the squad are doing anything except encouraging him, and that's what we should really be doing as GB fans

The fact remains, he's been selected on his past history, not this season's form...caused by injury admittedly, but he's still had a very poor season.
Everyone, including BC himself, knew he was going to be rusty, but an important international is not the time or place for match practice.
