Like pulling teeth this announcement we all know it was going to happen but just seemed to be being put off for some weird reason.
Anyway if it comes off it's a hell of signing the club has made if not we'll not go down that road hopefully.
Now this cleary lad from down under any chance of a swap deal for ISA?
Actually, was told tonight by Kris himself, the final ‘signature’ was only ‘done’ at 6pm this evening. He will be at the game on Saturday
I hope he has bought a ticket

never even thought to ask him about that

I am soooo excited by this. He is a world class signing.
It goes to show that having a billionaire owner will make a massive difference!
Hats off to the club for their ambition.
We are Wigan!
There is still the salary cap to contend whether the owner is a billionaire or not!
That’s true Josie but three factors have come into play now. The quality of our marquee players could improve significantly as the new owner can afford to recruit superstars if he so chooses and, our junior recruitment will now go to the next level as we can afford to invest more in top young talent (such as the eight players we have signed from Thatto Heath). Finally, Mr Danson could choose to purchase the best equipment, further improve facilities, and recruit additional back room staff.
It’s not even additional back room staff, it gives you the ability to sign better staff across the board.

My real question would be what’s changed in the recruitment area because we have seen a very different approach in the last 18 months
That’s not a complaint that’s a let’s keep it going!!

42 games in 3 seasons sounds like a lot of games missed through injuries surely?

Does this mean that we now have:
Havard, Cooper, Mago, Thompson, Byrne, Hill, Dupree, Ellis as main props with Chan, Douglas & Makin as back-ups?
I'm assuming that Nsemba & Walters will be second rows along with Farrell & Shorrocks (assuming he's still here) & Isa - Smithies at LF (maybe Leeming covers there as well.).
Bit light elsewhere if we have injuries, I would have thought.
Douglas is a winger. There is another signing to come yet.
Sorry for that. I don't normally use Wikipedia but the main Warriors site player profiles takes about 6 months to load and Wikipedia has Douglas down as a prop. Still think 10 props is overegging it a bit. Assume that loaning out will cover some of it.

This is a huge gamble on a player who has had an awful injury record for the last three years, and still not looking great. Add to that his questionable attitude, and being on a low having failed in the NRL, this could be a massive problem for us over the next 4 years. What he has shown is that he will happily sit on the bench and take his wages even if he is crocked. This seems like a wing and a prayer signing, to make a statement rather than a well thought out move. We aren't in the 80s now when we could sign anyone we wanted, this is going to blow a hole in our salary cap for 4 years and may derail all of the good work that has been done recently.

Or it could be one of our best signings in recent times. Who knows?

The flipside is that he may be as fresh as a daisy having played so little, and if, and it's a big and vital if, his injuries are properly behind him, we have a player raring to go with little fatigue.

Finally got our man after almost 2 years. Thompson wont be the last through door but there are a couple of departures on the horizon, one being Smithies to Canberra. All agreed just not signed as of yet. Transfer fee involved.

Looking like a big 2024.....as someone predicted
Not sure but Smithies has expressed an interest in going to Aus previously?
