Lachlan Lam to Hull FC update as ‘got their man’ claim made
In an eventful week regarding the future of Lachlan Lam, it’s been reported by Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks that the Leigh Leopards star will be playing his rugby league for Hull FC in 2025.
It would be an absolute huge coup for Richie Myler and Hull FC if they can pull it off but that is what Sky Sports‘ Jenna Brooks has reported live on air ahead of the game between St Helens and Warrington Wolves.
During her ‘News Round-Up’, the Australian revealed that Lachlan Lam will be heading to play at the MKM Stadium in 2025 as she claimed that Hull FC had ‘got their man
Brooks revealed: “It looks like Hull FC have got their latest man from the Leigh Leopards. It is believed that Lam has activated a clause in his contract that will enable him to leave at the end of the year.”
It would make Lam the fifth Leigh Leopards player to sign for Hull FC for 2025 after the acquisitions of John Asiata, Zak Hardaker, Ed Chamberlain and Oliver Holmes.
The news surrounding Lachlan Lam emerged earlier this week when it was revealed by Rugby League Live that Lam had been offered to other Super League clubs ahead of the 2025 season.
Whilst Lachlan Lam is contracted through till the end of the 2025 season, he does have an NRL release clause in his contract, however, Lam’s representatives believe that when triggered it also opens up the opportunity for him to look at other Super League moves.
That’s disputed by Leigh but it’s not stopped the talk of where will Lachlan Lam play and if it actually could be a Super League side. Per these reports from Jenna Brooks tonight, it would appear that it does allow for a Super League side to sign him.
It would be a hammer blow for Leigh Leopards to lose him but to lose him to a team such as Hull FC, who have already swooped for four other Leigh players, would be devastating with FC not considered one of Super League’s elite.
Further information on Lam’s future arose that Hull FC were the leaders in the clubhouse for his signature but for these reports to be made so quickly after, it suggests some very swift business has been done.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
