But who is that cheeky chappie featuring among the 4? Why it's Liam Marshall.
Great to see him as the face of SL for Sky.
Shaun Wane please note!

Sam Burgess condemns "theatrics" after furious Paul Vaughan red card verdict

Post by josie andrews »

Warrington Wolves' defeat to Leigh Leopards was at the centre of controversy.

Warrington boss Sam Burgess was not happy with Paul Vaughan’s red card 11 minutes into his team’s 16-12 Betfred Super League defeat at Leigh.

The Leopards’ win lifted them into the play-off picture for the first time this year, while Warrington slipped off the pace in their bid to become League Leaders Shield winners. However, Burgess only wanted to discuss the early flashpoint that saw Australian Vaughan sent-off for a high shot on Owen Trout.

Referee Liam Moore’s controversial call was reminiscent of Tommy Makinson’s dismissal in Saturday’s defeat to Hull KR, which earned the St Helens winger a two-game ban. Second row Trout left the field for a head injury assessment but later returned to the action.

“It was embarrassing,” said Burgess of Vaughan’s early exit. “It has become a theatrical game. Numerous players were telling players to stay down when we were about to play on.

“They sent him for an HIA, which was convenient,” he said sarcastically. “Is it really a red card? Were there mitigating factors? I believe so. I would have said yellow. It was such a big call because it had such an influence on the result.

“I can’t stress how proud I am of the team. We never stopped trying and we were below average with the ball. I have got a team fighting hard for each other. So, I will fight for them and ask a couple of questions. What are we going to do to sort out this mess? That was a mess and spoiled a good game. Let’s hope people in power get a grip of it. I don’t think it is a great look.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Missed the first 15 minutes as couldn’t get SL+ to work then all during the game it kept freezing 🤨
If this is how it’s going to be to watch the extra games being played think I’m going to cancel Sky sports altogether ☹️

Interested in others experience, I had a few drop outs in the first half but 2nd half was fine, maybe its problems with service provider?

Mines been ok every time I've used it though it does freeze 3 or 4 times during a game it's only for a second, would rather have it how it's been for most of the season though

Vaughan's feet leaves the floor as he goes into the tackle, the VR tend to rule strictly on that and something we need to bear in mind.

Ours was awful too. We had better picture quality in the days of Micron Video in the 80s. What made it even worse was the same football game was being shown on two different channels.

Why do people pay for Sky Sports through Sky rather than NowTv which is cheaper?

I'm locked in arguments with Sky about the lousy quality and the constant freezing too. As for Vaughan, if you connect with the jaw of an opponent with your shoulder, there can't be much mitigation. Nice to see the orchestrated Warrington whinge take over for the rest of the match expertly led by Sam Powell.

As for John Bateman, expect some yellow and red cards if he carries on like last night.
