Isnt it necessary to win the Grand Final to get an opportunity to compete in the WCC. So how could winning the WCC ever be at the expense of a Grand Final?

Time of year the WCC is played and if we are trying to play it anytime / anywhere
we are already going to Vegas for a league game, so an additional game v Penrith could be at the expense of us winning league games / top of league / grand final appearance

The scheduling is strange, as really it should be played in the same year that each competitor won. I suppose the expense argument could be used if we decided to play around the play-offs next season which i reckon would be unlikely due to the NRL being similar too.

They mean would you rather win the next WCC if it meant you didn't win the following Grand Final

Now this could also be playing on the minds of the Panthers. As much as we think NRL clubs do not take the WCC seriously. Paul Gallen said one of his worst moments in the game was losing against us. NRL season starts the same time so both sides are on the same fitness etc
Saints beat Penrith at Penrith. We beat them last season. Maybe they do not want it as if it's mid season and we beat them again it's a serious kick in the teeth to the NRL. We will be better next season they will not They are losing some serious talent
Though obviously I do think they are much better than u in 2024s. Maybe just maybe they do not fancy it as they will not be the same team. The cap hits them hard next season and as I said we will be. Given the development we see in our ranks and not losing anyone from the core team.
So yes I am calling Penrith Panthers owner and CEO cowards and award then a 4 feathers to go with the 4 Grand Final wins.

Cracking post

Forgot about the ‘four feathers’ analogy
