That’s an absolute joke decision to ban Thompson for what amounted to a nudge. There was nothing dangerous or malicious in it. What’s the point? All it does is deny a fabulous professional the chance to play another game for his country and denies the fans the chance to watch him play.
I agree with other posters regarding Hiku & Burgess. The latter clearly makes contact with Junior’s head whilst he is flat on the ground and already dazed from the fall. Compare that contact to Thompson and we can all see why no-one has any faith in the panel.

Dazed, he was out cold for seconds! Its crazy that didn't count as a potential concussion grand final or not IMO. Allowing him back on is just the sort of thing the RFL will be sued over.

According to Matty Peet on GMR tonight Junior was concious throughout but didn't move in case he had a neck injury. HIA as a precaution which he passed and was thus good to go.

That's certainly not what it looked like! I've seen people get knocked out and there's a certain way of "not moving" that they adopt - i.e. its not a conscious lack of motion, its a lack of input to their muscles - a "sack of potatoes"!
I suppose HKR can now use that statement to get out of the 3-5 week ban range, as Junior was intentionally staying down and not unconscious, and I guess how would the defenders know Junior thought he might be injured in that scenario.
Anyway, what I thought I saw was a player clearly unconscious from the moment he hit the deck the first time, bouncing into a prone position, being hit hard with no physical reaction whatsoever, and a few seconds later some indications that he regained consciousness. You could tell he was out before the defence took their second shot by the way he fell after hitting the floor for the first time IMO, and the total lack of any reaction at all to being hit again.

Whatever it was, it kept him relatively quiet for the rest of the game.

Stupid decision re Thompson and I sincerely hope it will be used up with an England match. Well done the panel and I'm sure SW will be delighted.
Mind you it's exactly the same punishment as Ben Westwood got for punching Blake Green on the blind side of the ref in a final. I suppose they're not exactly equivalent as an offence because the panel thought the punch was 'not deliberate.' I'm surprised Westwood didn't get an OBE and Thompson a 12-match ban.
Pathetic.

Didn't appear "sparked out" to me though!
I just didn't see the usual effects you see players have when taken a knock to the head.
To argue the point effectively brings the medical staff of Wigan Warriors into disrepute and could be regarded as slanderous at best, libellous at worst so please do continue on with your medical expertise........

Richard Silverwood has commented on the Hiku challenge but no one has about Thompson’s ‘nudge’ that I can find.
Except George Williams commenting on the disallowed Marshall try which went against Thompson being within ten metres even though he was nowhere near to be able to interfere with play!
