Sam Burgess Staying at Home?

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Sam Burgess' Las Vegas latest as suitcase picture emerges on social media

Post by josie andrews »

Burgess remains in the UK as he awaits clearance to go to Vegas.

Sam Burgess remains in the UK as Warrington Wolves remain hopeful of finding a solution to his visa issues. Burgess is still waiting to receive clearance to head to Las Vegas for the historic Super League clash.

Wire and the NRL remain hopeful that a solution will be allowed which will allow him to be in attendance when his side take on Wigan Warriors, though their preparation has inevitably been impacted by his inability to be in physical attendance.

A photo emerged across social media on Tuesday night, which showed Burgess posing with supporters at a train station with a suitcase in tow. However, it has been confirmed that Burgess is travelling to London in anticipation of being given the green light. That would allow him to get an immediate flight to the States, with travel to Sin City more accessible from London than up north.

The Warrington squad travelled out on Sunday, with Wigan heading there a day later. On Wednesday, assistant coach Martin Gleeson is set to address the media and provide an update on Sam's status. If Burgess does not make it, it will be Gleeson who is placed in charge.

Warrington have had a good start to the season, beating Huddersfield Giants and Catalans Dragons, despite not hitting their straps. They will face their biggest test of the season so far when they take on the Warriors this Saturday. While Wigan lost their opening game to Leigh Leopards, they hit back with an emphatic win over Hull FC last Friday.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

You can't rush the USCIS. They do things in their own time!
