The problem is we are getting down to the bare bones and yet we only have three outside backs injured. Personally, I am happy to give youth a chance but asking three of them to perform together for several weeks is a big ask. Hopefully, Field and Miski are not too bad. I do think though that we need more experienced cover in our backs. Oh for a Sam Panapa or Ged Byrne.NICKYKISS wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 9:51 pm They're only getting the results on Field this evening, so there's been no confirmation of timescales yet as far as I've seen. I think we can presume he's going to miss at least a month or more though. Not sure where the days of players getting hamstring strains and being ruled out for 2-3 weeks went tbh. Every hamstring we get now seems to be a shocker, with players missing 2-3 months or more.

Two underrated players who I thought were fantastic for us. Happy days.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 10:40 pmThe problem is we are getting down to the bare bones and yet we only have three outside backs injured. Not sure if the salary cap would allow utility players of that quality anymore because other clubs would be able to offer them more money and a regular starting spot.mickali1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 6:46 amTwo underrated players who I thought were fantastic for us. The level of utility player a club can have these days is one no one else sees as a potential regular first team player. The “best” you are going to get is like Hampshire and that did not work out at all.

Thankfully the news on Field looks good but we will have to go with Douglas and Eckersley for a good few weeks now, with Miski probably needing an op asap. They both did well in the main on Saturday though, so it's a good chance for them. The Keighran injury does create an issue though because in a way, he is that Ged Byrne type, who you could move around the backline. You could use Eckersley as that player but we now don't have any specialist centres outside of him and Wardle. Maybe Nathan Lowe gets a chance in the coming weeks. He scored a try out on loan at Oldham yesterday.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 10:40 pmThe problem is we are getting down to the bare bones and yet we only have three outside backs injured. The club are trying to get Miski fit for the HKR and Saints games. On Brierly, I think he has a fantastic rugby brain with his vision today being too good for his teammates.NICKYKISS wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 8:18 amThankfully the news on Field looks good but we will have to go with Douglas and Eckersley for a good few weeks now, with Miski probably needing an op asap.
