That might work, but last time DV was dropped, Brown was brought in as his replacement...not all that sensible, I'd have thought. It did seem to me. though, that there was more effort from DV today - I noticed him making tackles, which I haven't before (apart from the one he missed).
Did you watch it on tele Geoff? Watching him plod about taking ages to get back into position really aggrevates me. He did make more tackles than usual, some were good to give him his due, some were pathetic though and when Tadulala broke down the left wing in the first half he lost Vaealiki who Calderwood had to run around to make the tackle. To be palmed off by Obst is nothing short of embarrassing, sometimes players look shorter than they really are next to six foot odd players, but I've stood next to Obst and he is the size he looks.

As for replacing him with Browny, that doesn't bother me, atleast the lads tries and he is a far superior tackler. I thought he played a good game in the second half yesterday.

All last season there were about two of us (can only remember myself and Ian.Birchall) pointing out how useless DV is, I'm glad the rest of the fans are coming around and hopefully the coaching staff next!

Bar the try I saw nothing from DV that I have not already. The Obst try BTW was not only down to him, the defensive line was poor but it still remained a feeble attempt at a tackle. I used to think Kevin Iro was a gentle giant but DV makes him look like a crazed lunatic. Never have I seen such a big soft lump as DV

Yep, I think that O'Loughlin was out of position leading to the initial break but DV should have smothered him.

I think you're being a bit harsh? He had his best game this year today. Also thought that Brett Dallas was quiet as well. Maybe he went into the game carrying a knock?
His best game this year still doesnt cut it. He scored, but almost fluffed it. He dived into touch??? What was that about?? Vaealiki has been a big rip off, supposed to be challenging to be one of the top two centres in the world this season?? I think not! He cant run forward, catch and finds it hard to pass. He doesnt create space for a winger. Hes a massive bloke but someone touches him and its like hes melting, hes totally USELESS!!!!
i couldnt belive the way obst handed him off to score that try
But did he not go around Lockers first then hand off dv? He can't take the blame for that himself, A bad defensive line to start with, And he had to be there to score his try did he not?

DV played well against Wakefield, he put in a lot more tackles than usual and his tackling has improved. His running was stronger and more direct and he is defiantly on the road to improvement.

DV is a very talented player he has shown that in the NRL, if we sell him now he will go somewhere else start playing better and we will all be saying "why did we sell him."

When he first came to Wigan he had some good games but then picked up an injury when he came back he was playing in a weakened team you can't expect individuals to play well if the team isn't playing well.

Before the Wakefield game everyone said that Higham wasn’t good enough for Wigan but then he has a great game against Wakefield and he’s superstar again. We criticize players when they play badly then take it for granted when they play well.

Wigan is basically a new team and it takes a while for new players to fit in and older player to get used to new player once DV is playing in a good side then he will start to play well as well, just give the guy a chance to show how good he can be.

D & V Diahhorea and vomiting, let in 2 of the trys we conceded and even knocked on for the try that was allowed. He runs like a carthorse, has no pace and cant tackle.

Enough said!

Give him one more chance, he's not been playing in a particularly well performing team this year has he. We all saw how other members clicked a bit more yesterday, Higham did some work and looked creative for once, Brown didn't drop the ball everytime he had it, he took it forward passed it at the right time, Moran although his kicks were awful as usual he looked alive he was running with the ball finding the players that would have a chance to make some yards with it rather than throwing it whilst looking at the defense run onto the player hes just thrown it to.

Vaealiki looked slow and confused and has been less than impressive the last year but maybeee with the team around him now playing as a team like they did second half, he might get a bit mopre confidence in himself and be able to play like he did over in Aus. Think after one good performance by the whole team it's a bit early to be saying get rid. Let them at least try to play as the team we have now, if he doesn't get any better sub him
