Dave you want it both ways as usual.
Learn your history, Botts was one of Robinsons.
Not every decision was mo's even though he was chairman.
Mo is
always cited at the man who did the signings pre-Millward.
Point this out with the Botica example and suddenly it was Jack Robinson doing the signings.
Mo was chairman at the time Botica was signed of that there is no argument. The coach didn't sign the player, there is no argument about that either. So ultimately it was the chairman's responsibility i.e. Mo's.
u absolve Mo of the decision to get rid of yet
another coach because of the existence of our "Board" yet claim Bots as down to him ignoring the board we had at the time.
If I had a pound for every time a post is made citing Mo as the man who signed Wigan's players I'd be rich. If you are now saying it was always a board decision or often Robinsons while Mo was chairman then that is a new one on most fans.
So lets get this straight. Are you saying it was never Mo's sole responsibility to sign players?
If so then it means Mo is being unfairly criticised for his autonomous rule regarding who plays for Wigan.
As to Millwards sacking being a board decision and not Mo's alone I think that has to be the case regardless of the way the club was run up to 1992 during Mo's first stint and prior to when we got a board recently. The men on the current board are not going to have no opinion on this.
Things change and so while Mo was a dictator at one time does not mean he can do that now.
So no, I don't want it both ways but I think others do. They want him to be a dictator to blame him for all the clubs ills when it suits but won't accept that if was a dictator he did some good things such as signing Botica.
If you do your homework you will see that many of the ruthless decisions were Jacks. Lyndsay was the more flamboyant - if we build it the will come - type of director.
Being serious, and not meaning to sound condescending (please don't take it that way) if you want some interesting reading i have loads you are free to borrow.
I don't take it that way at all and equally don't want you to take my response the same way. I like a good debate!
