To me it will always be the circus song.
As I said last week on other posts, I hate all that music nonsense that accompanies the Super League. I prefer my RL without the cheese.

The only other musical reference that can be associated with Wigan is the hymm "Abide with me".

If you've ever had the pleasure of sitting in a packed Wembely stadium whilst this is being echoed throughout the ground you'll know what I mean.

The hymm is synonymous with shivers down the spine, and if you want to see a grown man cry just look around as this is being sung.
It captures an emotion nothing else can.
Does anyone remember the Circus song version that started " Here comes Billy with his bunsen Burner, you'd better watch out 'cos he's a learner " etc.?

Oh how times have changed ?! That was in Eddie Waring days when I got a clout off me Dad when I got home because he'd seen me and me mate Jimmy on the pitch waving to the cameras at the end of a televised match !

Got to be the Gladiator song, Now We Are Free - makes me tingle when I hear it and think of Wigan.

Superstar by Jamelia. We sung it round Carcassone when we played Limoux.
I don't no who you are
But you could be some kind of Wigan star.

Eh it made my weekend that.

That one certainly reminds me of Wigan, but for very different reasons. It was the "on-hold" music for the JJB ticket office when we were going to Cardiff for the last Challenge Cup final. Or more accurately, 20 seconds of it was the "on-hold" music, the same 20 seconds over... and over... and over... and over again for an hour and a quarter until I got through to the ticket office. If they'd even played the rest of the song, I wouldn't have minded, but just the same 20 seconds repeated over and again is enough to make you hate a song forever.

The Rasmus - In The Shadows. It was on about 25 times in the car on the road to Cardiff in 2002, good old Rock FM eh?
