Thats a good comment DaveO, especially with the Quins and all their Aussies that they have a concession for. Have they come over to play for a team with minimal spectators, with which part of the salary capping is based? On the number of spectators coming through the door? I think not. Plus having to live in London with their prices? Rules must be being broken somewhere down the line.

I don't know if rules are being broken or not but what gets me is peoples short memories about the shinnanigins that went on very very recently to keep certain clubs afloat and most importantly in SL.

The one that got me was the Gateshead thing. The sport was introduced up there - as it was in London with a team parachuted in but the locals took too it far better than London has ever taken to "Quins".

Their average crowd was something like 7,000 a game. They got into financial difficulty and all of a sudden Hull who were also up the creek financially replace them.

What an absolute disater that was. The game had made genuine pogress outside the heartlands and all the new fans had the rug pulled from under them.

Hull benefitted and are only here today because of Gateshead.

I think we will get relegated if we finish bottom because the RFL think we can cope with it. I genuinly beleive that. If we were Hull and about to go out of existance then things might be different but the RFL will let us go down to show how "fair" they are.

DaveO totally agree with you. There will be some in the Super League hieracy who have been waiting for this chance, and now it looks like they may get it they will be wetting theirselves with the thought of it. I am sure that they will be only to pleased to show how fair they are.

But lets say for the moment that we get to 10th place and below us are Catalan and Harlequins. I would dare bet that there could be a sudden rule change so that Harlequins would not face the drop, as we already know Catalan won't, and it might be down to us again.

No I don't think so. If Quins finish 11th I could see them not getting relegated but I can't see the 10th placed club going down in their place.

Dave we don't see eye to eye but I want to say that your posts on this subject have been spot on and I totally concur with you.

This thread is talking a good debate, our sport is a kept sport , at the beck and call of Sky, not the RL bosses and has been for a very long time. It's wether they want our great club in "Super" league or not. The worrying thing is, if a comment on another thread regarding the stopping of penalties to Wigan because they have had 6 in a row, by the fourth official is true, and I can believe it, be afraid, be very afraid!
