Re: Locked out!
To be fair you could have exchanged the junior vouchers at the JJB anytime this week, a few of my mates did it. Althought that being said I do agree the system is a shambles and I certainly wouldn't have been pleased if I was left outside.

Re: Locked out!
They did that with my mates dad. We arrived just before 2pm and there was a big queue at the ticket office, but this guy walked past us saying 'If you don't have a ticket, don't bother, it's sold out'. We had tickets so we were ok. What I did notice was that the end opposite ours had spaces left and yet they announced it as a sell out. I think they over sold our stand, there was no room to move. To be fair, if they were expecting a sell out they have to ask vouchers to be changed, as they have an allocated amount of tickets for the stands, and if people walk in without tickets (with vouchers) they will lose count of how many they have let in and this will add to the over crowding of the stands. But admit, they should have announced it as all ticket earlier.dutchy posted:
me and my two kids along with about 30 others managed to watch the game at the HJ reception area where a very kind young girl let us sit down or stand at the reception area and watch it on their tele, she even provided us with a radio so we could listen to the match as well. they also fetched about 30 bottles of water out to us and told us to help ourselves. Iknow we would've sooner got inside the ground but even so they did'nt have to let us watch it there. A big thankyou goes out to the staff at the wires reception![]()

........and on the 8th day, God made Wigan Warriors!
Re: Locked out!
After last years game nearly sold out and with the support Wire always bring to the JJB I am suprised all these people left outside didn't think to get there at midday or get a ticket earlier in the week.
There were some people complaining on the radio who seemed to think that someone from the club ought to pop over to their house to tell them the game will be all ticket.

Re: Locked out!
Just a query. There were quite a few Wire supporters in our stand. Were they allowed to buy them before we returned our spares? because if they weren't then I would be interested to know how so many got the remaining tickets.
Re: Locked out!
Some Saints fans rang up Radio Manchester to say they bought tickets in the away end for today.
Re: Locked out!
Saw a few people cop fixed penalties for parking too today. I found it a real maze as to where to park. Stopped at one of those permit holder ony parking places opposite Tesco and was greeted by a French parking attendant who had no clue whatsoever. Did not fancy parking on Tesco etc. Eventually back tracked and found a spot further away. some of those industrial units / and the warrington club are missing a money making opportunity.
Re: Locked out!
I've got mixed feelings about the whole thing. While I agree that Warrington should probably have made it all-ticket from the outset, or at least made a much earlier announcement about it, at the end of the day, tickets have been on sale for a long time: we got ours weeks ago.
As Rob said (somewhere) people should have expected a big (relative to the capacity) crowd, and planned accordingly.

If you were at that game like I was v's Wakefield, you would know why the att was reduced.GeoffN posted:
The official capacity is shown as 14,206 on all the sites I've found, and they have had that many in the ground previously (in 2004). Don't know why it's been reduced
It was totally unbelievable with no room to flex a toe.
Now I know what it must have been like at Odsall in 1954 :exc:

I hope you remember to email that to the club.
It would be appriciated by the the community dept and may even help to step up Warrington's plans of filling in the corners of the stadium. :eusa2:

But I still don't understand why you would build a new ground with only that capacity."although having said that I don't see where they could have squeezed another 1200 in."
