I remember my first match was at central park when wigan played warrington. Cant remember the year but i remember some of the squad line up as offiah, henry paul, sean edwards (captain), dean bell and bottica. I was about 13 or 14 ( im 24 now). Can anyone help with the year??
Anyway ive always been a fan but only started going to matches gain when i first started seeing my boyfriend over 2 years ago. I cant beleive what ive been missing.

Re: Your First Match
Too young to remember mine, but i'd say around 1987/88 when I was 3, I remember watching ellery hanley on TV with his famous "sideways" try at wembley, I remember my uncle, who was about my age (21) saying he couldnt take his banner into Wembley because he had baseball bats as sticks to hold up his sign.
First definate match I remember was against Featherstone rovers in the 88/89 season, too long ago

Re: Your First Match
Don't remember the match but early 60's. All the family had season tickets for the seats inside the perimeter wall that they called ringside seats. Matches were on sat. afternoons and we even went to a match striaght from my auntie's wedding still dressed in our wedding clothes.

Re: Your First Match
Wigan 32 Carlisle 0.
It was absolutely peeing down and Carlisle were a team where you hoped you might score 50. I can remember Henderson Gill scoring and Colin Whitfield scoring 4 out of 8 goals, which was actually quite good for him.

Don't really remember...probably about 1995 when I was 4, my dad used to take me. They always used to let little kids be lifted over the turnstile
Used to sit on the leaning bars during the game...Quality!

........and on the 8th day, God made Wigan Warriors!
