Taking 2 points off Wigan is not going to stop them getting into the playoff because they won't get their anyway, relegation still very much the issue at Wigan, have you looked at our remaining fixtures?

On the subject of Wigan being deduct points I agree with what most people are saying that the RFL can not deduct points until the end of the season and we were not over the cap last year.

I was talking to some people a few days ago and one said that the RFL would be starting an investigation next week, into the situation of the salary cap at ALL clubs in the Super League.

It's in the League Express also apparently, I've not had chance to get myself a copy yet to confirm it either way.

I'll stick my neck out here and ask if anyone can remember how many players we went through last season? Just as this year, we had a horrendous time with injuries, and promoted half of Wigan from the Academy teams to play first team so that we could put out 17 players. But this season we've been using a lot of loan players but then we've got rid of most of them to try and keep under the cap. Last year we only had a couple of retirements (Botham, Farrell, Davico), but most other players were in the squad for the season. Did we use too many players last year and inadvertantly overspend?

Having said all that, I thoroughly agree with the idea that any points deductions should have been done a long time ago, not a month before the season ends. The sport doesn't need that to make the relegation battle more interesting, it is much fairer for fans if they know their team has to claw back extra points before such things start getting really important (Italian soccer match-fixing scandal - those clubs know that they're starting the season lots of points behind everyone else, ditto NZ Warriors).

Going off squad shirt numbers, 34. Not sure how many of those actually played a game though - I know Faz didn't (but was presumably still being paid until he left).
Not sure either how the injury situation affects wages (is there insurance cover, for example, or how much is basic salary and how much is match fee/win bonus etc).
I remember Lockers only playing 7 games, and Hock only 3, for example, and Rads & Carney only played about half the games.
