I thought Drew would have won the LT had Hudds maintained control for longer but after the first 20 minutes the game started going Saints way. That left only Long IMO with Lyon as an outside bet.
The penalty mistake by Silverwood when Wild legally stole the ball was a very bad call. Hudds really lost the impetus after that. Saints kicked well and stopped making mistakes. They did better when their subs came on too. How many times has KC failed to front up in big games? Quite a lot it seems. Thorman was never fit and many of the big Hudds forwards ran out of steam.
First half was very good but once it went 18-6 you knew it was over and that was that.

At least we did not allow them to do a Sheffield !!
Also dont recall a Wiganer getting the Lance Todd on 3 occasions - during the 8 year so called glory run (when you was the only full time pro team) it is worth noting.

LoL Yes we slipped up once, now how many times did Saints slip up and who did they lose to twice in that run? as for the Lance Todd, in a world class team the awards get shared out. Today it was a case of WHO can we give it to. As for full time pros, yes whatever, Leeds were and many others teams had plenty full timers too.

I thought there were better players than Long, though. I'd have picked either Lyon or Wilkin personally.

Got to say I would have preferred to watch the match on sky. I know Eddie and Stevo are like two old women but at least they know the players. JD's comment after a try was "if you watch these two guys here". He's paid enough money surely he could do some homework and get the players names!
