Re: Im not Happy
im not to concerned to be honest. we had as manny chances as warry but just couldnt take advantage. wigan are defending better than last year attacking better than last year. warrington are a good team who finished way above us last season and we ran them close. there was panic in the ranks at the end! well done to all the fans who came out tonight warry and wigan alike!
dont let your victories go to your head or your failures go to your heart
Re: Im not Happy
some of the passing was a joke up above the head most of the time and players are having to stop to take the ball instead of it hitting the bread basket.was trying to think on the way home did we make any run's from dummy half? for me millard and higham are to alike in what they do,really missed wagga doing something quicker & different.and why do we not try something different from the kick off instead of kicking down the fullback's throat
English by birth. Wigan by the grace of God.
Re: Im not Happy
we looked predictable near the line. but we will get better when we play more games with barrett and lu lu gelling. that was barretts first game since last season and has had a few niggling injuries. richards was poor tonight
Re: Im not Happy
If you are all honest,Wire were always the favourites for the game tonight, the players they have added are impact players,we are starting all over again with a brand new half back pair.BUT,look a little bit beyond the result, and I see a great deal of promise.
Someone on another thread said that our forwards need to be closer to the play, our forwards never ran more than 5 yards to receive the ball,so had no impact.Think about Feka last season when he was making all those yards, how far was he running before he received the ball?
Barrett was first class,Lulu not far behind,Hock is going to be THE best second row in Super League,O'Carroll was a bloody revelation,I did post a while ago about his similarity to Danny Nuttley, just keep it going lad!.
I am not predicting we will win the Grand Final, but we are going to see a hell of a lot more wins than we did last season.
Medlocke, were did you get that great picture of Ace Frehley?

Re: Im not Happy
I am probably not in the best of moods having just got back being stuck on car park 3 for an hour but I thought we were absolute garbage for the entire 80 mins.
I don't think there was one Wigan player who got the better of his opposite number. Not one. Wire even lost their stand off and Morley and we still couldn't score.
The best team won on the night no doubt about it and while it is only the first game several things stand out that are IMO going to define our season for the worse.
First of all Feka was used pretty much like he was last season. Unfortunately although O'Carroll has played himself into next weeks 17 he isn't as good as Logan. So we need Feka to be capable of more than he apparently is. If he can't our "two experienced props" becomes "one experienced prop out of form" for far too long during a game. Our pack will get beaten far too often if we have to play Feka like that.
Next we need a goal kicker. It isn't Richards fault he has been landed the job but we are going to have to score a darn sight more tries than we look capable of to win many games.
Millard is just too slow. Why he played for as long as he did given our complete inability to set up a move or break I don't know.
We also look looked a yard off the pace and that was most disappointing. Very slow and that id where I thought we would have the edge on Warrington.
I don't think the idea it's a new half back pairing cuts the mustard as an excuse. Barrett is supposed to be class and apart from to excellent field kicks and a couple of chip kicks he did nothing IMO. I can't remember him taking on the line or running and doing a side step. A very disappointing individual performance from him.
Lulu was a one trick Pony near the line with the gruber kick. Time after time. If it was due to lack of runners well Barrett was supposed to be one and Lockers another. Where were they?
I am not optimistic based on what I saw tonight at all.

£450,000 is this the best player we could get for this money. He was totally useless last night

dock there wages for a couple of weeks that will get them focust .ive often thought that wigan need to be more agresive attack and defense in the past .most people know it can lift a team sometimes when feka goes on one of his barnstorming runs say, more agrestion thats what i say :

Re: Im not Happy
I was aying that dave too. They lost their 6 and star 2nd rower and we got zip....
I know it was his first proper game but Thomas is like another MOran. Bring back Danny Orr who is said to have murdered Saints last night!

Re: Im not Happy
Sorry to tell you but Ashton was poor. He looks uncomfortable under the high ball and he now has a habit of running the ball back diagonally makes 30 yards side ways and 5 forward.turf posted:
A bit harsh to say Ashton was a complete JOKE tonight. I would give him a rating of about 7 out of 10.
The RL Fans site gives him from 5 to 7.

Someone talking sense at last. Wires were not favourites in the bookies but for me were.num lock posted:

You cant excpect a side with 5 new players, 2 jhalfs who never played before to start playing well.
We lost by 6 points to a very good side who apart from 3 players have been together for a long time. And none of there new players were in crucial areas on the team.
