Im sure that over these forthcoming days the club will be talking to Gareth about his lifestyle, why and why not... it isnt an ordinary job and he's been with Wigan since he was 12. Im sure the club will do their bit to aid him where necessary.

If that is correct, it does not surprise me. If it isn't, then I would guess a large number of players (various Premier League clubs) will be breathing a sigh of relief and thinking "There but for the Grace of God!".
It has been common knowledge for years in Orrell who they are. Ask any of the regulars in a certain pub!! The rest will probably keep their heads below the parapet for the immediate future until the dust settles(no pun intended!).
It has been stated many times that professional sportsmen should be setting an example to the younger kids. How is this for irony- the regular dealer has now lost some very good customers ftb and will be looking for fresh outlets. And the High Schools have not yet closed for summer!!

with so many people having so much knowledge about so much abuse how come the club does not know or has not taken any action ?? I live in Orrell and have not heard any of this.

...because when the players are out and about in pubs, they are not discreet. That's why it's common knowledge.

You obviously don't go in the right pubs! (Or wrong ones!!)

3 to 5 years ago Wigan took hush hush action with 3 players. Two are now playing for other SL Clubs.
Poster, at every SL club there are a small circle of players who indulge. Even at amateur clubs it happens.

Ithink its whats called an open secret.I,ve been told of one player(im not sayin who, what, why or were)who was asked to leave a pub because of what he had on him.Now this is pretty common knowledge in the pub were it happend. His club might have heard about it,but they have to decided wether they act on every rumour or not.

It's an open secret about performance enhancing drugs that's for sure. I know a former coach who witnessed players injecting each other on numerous occasions but felt powerless to do anything. I think there's also an element of being pragmatic here - if one club took the decision to clean their players then that club would be at a serious disadvantage.
Sadly, I'm ashamed to say I do have some experience with certain 'additives'. I was young and peer pressure was immense and looking back I was incredibly stupid. Luckily for me I went to Uni, met a new set of friends and really lost interest in that kind of thing, plus it was dam expensive. Saying all that, it was certainly an experience! My best mate at the time was proper into and it was interesting watching what happened with various stacks. I also went along to the Bolton Needle Exchange with him and it was amazing who you saw in there! But, like many drug users it took over his life.

The ones who will prove possitive will already have been tested.
The high profile news of this will make players stay below ground for a while, keeping away from the stuff till the coast clears a bit, I suspect.

here is hoping but its hard to think the second test will come back any different...like I said I hope that he is clean..
That said
If he is found gulity and I say IF!
Then he should not be welcome to play for Wigan ever again, no need for words of explanation they are very evident..
